It’s that time of the year! The holidays are here, and that means that we want to give some great gifts to our Inside Redbox members and supporters.
We really appreciate those who use this site, share promo codes, and leave comments and reviews for all to see. In order to give back, we are starting up a giveaway program we will be running through the end of the year (and perhaps even longer).
Read on after the break for the details, and what you can do to be involved…
0.4. Some cool new features were added related to the movie queue and some important bug fixes were found and repaired, making this the best and most stable release ever.
My name is Shane, and I’m the newest ingredient in the delicious stew that is Inside Redbox. Like you, I love the movies and I love the convenience of Redbox. Michael (Inside Redbox’s founder) has taken his love of the two and turned them into this fantastic site, which I’m now happy to be a part of.
When I saw Return of the Jedi on the big screen, my pre-school mind was altered forever (I’m sure a certain gold bikini helped with that). Since then, my love of film has only grown, and it’s a thrill to be able to share that with the Inside Redbox community. I’ve been a writer, editor and marketing manager, and recently started my own marketing company, Stickyfoot Creative (website coming soon).
Enough about me. As you know, there’s a lot going on right now with Redbox, its competitors, and the industry in general. Let’s roll…
Just wanted to write a quick post welcoming new Inside Redbox blogger Shane Smith.
Shane was chosen for the position we opened a few weeks ago, and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the Inside Redbox community. I will allow him to introduce himself in his first post, but just wanted to share the news with everyone.
Lately you may have noticed a slow down of my news updates, even though there is news to report. This is because I have been so busy on some other projects, that I have been unable to post as often as I would like.
So, to remedy that problem, I am looking to hire a couple of people to write posts here on Inside Redbox. Read on for all the details…
UPDATE: I have emailed everyone who has commented and shown interest in this position. I am closing comments on this thread for now.
There are now 3 options to get a Gold Membership, ranging in price from FREE to $17.99.
The FREE option is the same as it was before. You get a 1-YEAR membership by completing a (usually) free trial offer with a business of your choice through TrialPay.
A completely new 1 YEAR option was added, where you can purchase a 1-YEAR membership for just $9.99.
I am just testing these new options and prices for a limited time, so if you want to get a membership, do it quick before I raise the prices back to the regular $19 per year.
Note: If you had previously purchased a 2 year membership for $20, I went ahead and extended the length of your membership until the end of 2011 as a thanks for your support.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for some sweet new features coming soon, particularly as part of the Movie Queue section.
For a limited time the Inside Redbox Mobile Pro app is on sale for just $0.99.
When the sale ends, the price will go up to $2.99, so get it now and tell your friends with iPhones to get it, too. We appreciate your support and hope you enjoy the app!
As many of you may remember, just over a week ago I mentioned I would be updating you on how Inside Redbox will help keep Free Movie Monday’s alive. My goal was to get that update to you this week, but it didn’t happen. I have most of the details worked out, but need a little more time in getting everything in place.
I do have a good reason I didn’t get everything ready as planned, though, and here it is…
On Saturday, May 23 we celebrated the birth of the newest member of our family – baby Leah. She came just over 3 weeks earlier than expected, though, and shortly after her birth we learned she was suffering from respiratory distress. After trying for a little while to control it, it was deemed she needed more treatment than our hospital could provide, and was Life Flighted to another hospital with a NICU (Newborn ICU).
All went well there and we were able to break her out a few days ago, and she is now doing well at home. Of course, we have had follow-up doctor visits and trips to the hospital for lab tests, taking even more of my time away from working on my usual activities – including this site.
Anyway, I just thought I would share with you a bit what was going on so you know I didn’t abandon you! June 8 is the next date Redbox will NOT have a Monday promo code for us, so I plan to have everything ready by then.
UPDATE:I have had a few people who understand how expensive having a child life flighted and in the NICU is ask how they could help. I appreciate it very much!
