As many of you may remember, just over a week ago I mentioned I would be updating you on how Inside Redbox will help keep Free Movie Monday’s alive. My goal was to get that update to you this week, but it didn’t happen. I have most of the details worked out, but need a little more time in getting everything in place.
I do have a good reason I didn’t get everything ready as planned, though, and here it is…
On Saturday, May 23 we celebrated the birth of the newest member of our family – baby Leah. She came just over 3 weeks earlier than expected, though, and shortly after her birth we learned she was suffering from respiratory distress. After trying for a little while to control it, it was deemed she needed more treatment than our hospital could provide, and was Life Flighted to another hospital with a NICU (Newborn ICU).
All went well there and we were able to break her out a few days ago, and she is now doing well at home. Of course, we have had follow-up doctor visits and trips to the hospital for lab tests, taking even more of my time away from working on my usual activities – including this site.
Anyway, I just thought I would share with you a bit what was going on so you know I didn’t abandon you! June 8 is the next date Redbox will NOT have a Monday promo code for us, so I plan to have everything ready by then.
UPDATE: I have had a few people who understand how expensive having a child life flighted and in the NICU is ask how they could help. I appreciate it very much!

What a great name for your baby. As she grows I hope she likes her name as much as I like mine. HA HA
Having and raising children is really a big big job and rewarding. Hope this will bring you all closer together. Yes, family does come 1st!! I understand the bills will mount but somehow they will be paid. Please don’t stress about them take care of little Leah. Your family is beautiful.

Wow. 2nd time this month that I came across this name: Leah. A few weeks ago in Guatemala I met an artist from Los Angeles by the same name. Her paintings are quite beautiful as is your new baby, Leah. I believe it means ‘delicate’ in Hebrew. I may be wrong. But if it is correct, your daughter is at her most delicate time of her life. Glad she has gotten better. – MO

I am so glad that your baby girl is doing okay. My son had the same problem when he was born 3 weeks early. He was sent to a larger hospital and “Thank God” they were able to treat him and his father and I were able to bring him home on the day he was originally due to be born. God is so good if we just let him take care of things and not get in His way. Sounds like this is what you and your family did. May God bless you always.

Best wishes to you and your family! I know what it is like to go through what you and your family have had and still deal with and with all that is going on you have to remind your self that your other children might feel a little left out, so try to give them their special time also.

I just watch the slide show you posted, that was so Awesome! And I must say, you and your wife have 4 Beautiful children {yeseven your son is beautiful}, as do I but I have 4 Beautiful daughters. {25, 24, 23, and 21 years old} And now I also have 6 grand kids {4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons} and 1 step grandson, soon to be a full grandson {my 2nd. daughter is in process of adopting him}. Just wanted to tell you “Thank you”, I enjoyed seeing your little Leah and family!

I also have 4 beautiful children and they very much look forward to “Redbox Mondays”. It really helps out, especially in these bad economic times, that we can get a free movie to enjoy with the family (or in rare instances, a romantic comedy to enjoy w/o the kids! :D )
