I just noticed that Redbox updated their website at www.redbox.com. Take a look and share your thoughts.

One of the things they added is an account management feature, so you can now save/update your credit cards and email addresses.

Anyway, it looks pretty good and I think this is just the tip of the iceberg, as I understand they are working on quite a few other changes, too.
Site was not functioning correctly. It wouldn’t let me manage my credit cards, but sounds like a great feature when working. I need to use the reserve online feature more often.
Manage your credit cards? $100 says if you do that you won’t be able to use the same global free code on multiple cards.
And yes, I know the Monday codes are ending, but I doubt it’s the end of global free codes in general.
You won’t be able to do that anyway because they are consolidating all users credit card accounts according to addresses so the using one code on multiple credit cards will soon be a thing of the past.
Source? Or is this an assumption/guess?
They certainly could do this, but then again they could have done it before now. With Monday codes ending this seems a little like locking the barn door after the horses are gone, if it didn’t matter to them before why is it a big deal now?
If you read the post from “UBM” the other day you would know that he said he was talking to a Redbox employee while he was filling up the machine and that is what he told him, so I guess you could say that’s from the “source” NOT and assumption. And maybe they didn’t think everyone would abuse the codes as much as they did and that’s why “it is a big deal now”. And while we’re on the subject, your other post about the email superceding the website is not necessarily correct either. If they meant “every month until August” or whatever that’s probably what it would say, not “every month” so I think it is going to continue but that’s really anyone’s guess right now. So anyway to quote you ….”Don’t be ridiculous”!
Was on the site to create an account and it would not work, neither would anything else.
Their IT guys need to get a clue. Did they even try this on more than one browser? It screws up in Firefox and Opera, the graphics for the buttons suck and it looks like a 9 year old drew them.
@Car – works on all browsers that I have tried, IE 7,8, safari 4, ff and chrome. I do agree with you, i think the buttons are weak.
it works for me too. FF3 and IE7/IE8.
it stores credit card for me and rented successfully.
rented “nothing but the truth”, great movie! :)
Looks great in IE8… Buttons are good and site sure looks alot better.
Should have also said:
IE8 – 1024×768 – 32bit color with 85khz monitor rate…
i like the change – it took care of my first complaint about the site. i remember “way back when” it was hard to tell whether or not a movie was available at a specific kiosk. The difference was the text for Available Locations was indicated by being slightly more bold. It was so subtle it was very hard to tell. A previous update made the difference look much more clear, but NOW there it is extremely obvious whether you can “RENT” or just “View Other Titles.”
Hmmm, I don’t have any trouble when using Firefox, either.
The redblog entry announcing the changes has lots of complaints some things don’t work on different browsers.

Still NO Blu-ray look up on the website, this is my #1 demand!
Great their new changes have killed the iPhone app. This sucks!
When will they get the Blu Ray format in zip 54901 ? ?
Does anyone know what the new releases are placed in the Redbox kiosks? I wanted to reserve one online but not finding any available.
