Okay, I saw 7 of the top 20 and Gran Torino was definitely the winner for me! Gotta love Clint! I watch an excellent movie like Gran Torino and then I really have to wonder why people are crying because Redbox doesn’t carry a movie like The Unborn!!!

Ok, “Taken”, “Defiance”, & “Valkyrie” were all MUCH better than “Gran Torino”! I love Clint too but come on man, it’s time for the guy to quit playing “tough guy”. I just can’t see a guy that’s 125 years old being “tough and scary”….PLEASE!! He needs to stick to directing and playing “normal” guy roles!! Not to mention the TERRIBLE acting by everyone except Clint!

Moviecrazy–not to be insensitive, BUT you’re just plain crazy! No way was “Taken” better than my Clint and “Gran Torino”!!! I watched “Taken” and I had to fast forward through much of the movie just to keep the repetitive action moving! As soon as I started to watch “Taken” I couldn’t help but start thinking of the Natalie Holloway story and the theory behind her disappearance–and the movie didn’t disappoint. By didn’t disappoint I mean it was PREDICTABLE!!! and , therefore, BORING!

I just watched “Incendiary” (Ewan McGregor-Michelle Williams) through NetFlix and
was wondering why RedBox does not have this fine film?

Michelle Williams (Deception, Brokeback Mountain) as well as
Ewan Mcgregor (The Island) are becoming familiar faces
and quite talented performers in the top 10, I would be so bold to say.

    So why?

(anyways, do rent the film-(you do need tissues)).

These codes are some sort of teaser codes, H3MGZ4J, MZRWTGK.

They will show a Total of $0.00 and make you swipe your card before they say “promo code already used”. This happened on two different cards and I track all codes I’ve used in the past.

Previous “expired” or already used one time codes are either good or not at the time you type them in.

I’m not sure what they are up to, they could be trying to frustrate people. IT AIN’T WORKING!

Hey Redbox, waste your time on something more productive, WTF are you thinking?

You want all of us to start calling you and complaining about this?

JJJ… From my experience, it seems when you put in a SHARED code and it does this (accepts code but then says ‘promo code already used’ after you swipe your card/put in zip) –it was a code that wasn’t meant to be shared in the first place! It was/is a 1x code good only for the person it was issued to –such as a code from a McDonald’s food wrapper, or a code given by Redbox to a person who calls them to complain of an inconvenience (the dvd they rented was scratched/didn’t play, or the kiosk they went to rent/return their dvd at was jammed or not functioning, etc. etc. If you want to test this, I had to call Redbox yesterday b/c I went to return my dvd to Walmart and someone’s dvd was jammed in the slot and the jam wouldn’t let me return. Walmart said they weren’t responsible. I called Redbox, they remotely checked the kiosk I told them was jammed to verify it was jammed, took my personal info, and then issued me an email with the 1x code T25JZD4 for my inconvenience. I then returned my dvd to another kiosk and used the code T25JZD4 to get the movie PUSH. Therefore, my USED 1x code is now not good for anyone else and if YOU try it , it should be accepted then rejected ‘promo code already used’ after you swipe your cc card/put in zip. The problem is bloggers who share /put their USED 1x codes on the Codes Page and drive everyone else nuts trying to get the used 1x code to work.

I think you completely missed JJ’s point.

He never said the codes should have worked. Not all will, obviously. His point is Redbox knows (or should know) a code is invalid the moment it is typed in but says nothing.

Instead it accepts it until the CC swipe and zip, and only then complains, wasting the customer’s time. (And that of any others in line behind them.)

I just tested one of my own one time use codes that I already used and it did the same thing, looked good $0.00 and went all the way, making you swipe (I used a different card).

I also tried a one time code that I didn’t use last month and it expired, it told me it was not valid right after I typed it in.

My experience over the last year or so was that a one time code would tell you it’s not valid/already used right after you type it in. Seems like something changed.

What we need is a big notice that tells people not to enter any one time use codes on the list here. Or mark them so it’s obvious. You are going to need a check box that clearly explains what a one time use code is or makes it super obvious because I don’t think people understand the difference.

I know the 1x code I got emailed to me had a 45 day expiration. Maybe after you use that 1x code within the 45 days, during the remainder of that 45 days anyone else who tries that code, if shared, will go thru the process of it being accepted than rejected as ‘promo code already used’ only after they swipe the card/put in their zip. After the 45 days, whether the 1x code was used or not, it becomes invalid and should say so immediately when punched in the kiosk. I’ll try the T25JZD4 code that I got/used on July 8 b/c of the jammed kiosk, on around August 25th to see if the kiosk immediately says ‘promo code already used’ or ‘invalid code’ and will report back then…..if I remember!

Just be glad that RedBox is still $1 rentals per night.
I bet BlockBuster thought LONG AND HARD about
pushing their model of “$1.99 first night, $1 after”
against the industry standard until someone told them
    not to.

With costs rising and businesses failing, I’m just glad
Redbox is still here, providing entertainment for $1 a night.
If they NEVER give FREE Codes again, except for problems
as rb said, I’d be happy and it wouldn’t phase me one bit.
    :-)

Michael…As suggested before, time you block the ability for bloggers to go into the archives and pull up that archive to make comments. Seems 'someone' has a 'vendetta' and is trying real hard to bring out the worst to sabotage this site. And what's up with this new format/font/what ever it's called? rb

I have actually done that already, but one just got through because I am working on the comments area. That is why you are seeing a different format.

I’ve been havin a hard time just being able to use my free code just once.It will say already used & these would be the ones good for the 45 days.I’ve been trin now for goin on 3 weeks, have used different cards even, but good idea about havin a different address with each card, although would be kind of a pain trin to get the reciepts for them.Have a good week. Thanks insideredbox for the free codes & also to all the folks that give the cool info.So if I understand for sure, ya can’t share the free ones that are good for 45 days?
