Hmmm, I’m curious why “Milk” is not on the list; it’s not distributed by Universal nor by the Weinstein company so that’s not the problem.
I’m also disappointed that “Let the Right One In” isn’t on the list as well. I’m hoping that the list is incomplete at the time I make this post.
Anyway, I appreciate the info on this website as it helps me plan where I’m going to get my movies for the week.
hi, just wondering how come “role models” isn’t on the list?
Both “Milk” and “Role Models” are Universal titles. Maybe Redbox will have them at some point. Like other posters Redbox seems to be going toward the cheap DVD’s like Casino Job instead of “Let The Right One In” and “Synecdoche, New York”, too bad.
Yeah, regarding “Milk”, I saw that it was distributed by Focus Features. I didn’t realize that Focus was owned by Universal.
Matt
Have you seen Happy Go Lucky or Striped Pajamas? Happy Go Lucky won a golden globe and Striped Pajamas was terrifric!
I am guessing that because Let the Right one In is foreign language they wont carry it. Casino Job looks crappy but I am thinking that these kind of titles are liked by plenty of people or else they wouldnt keep buying them….right?
I personally will be going for rachel Getting Married…I heard that one was REALLY good.
I’ve rented Mongol and Re-Cycle from my local Box, both of which were excellent foreign language films. Must be some other reason to hold back Let The Right One In.
Um, Milk and Role Models don’t even come out until tomorrow!!!
T:
This *IS* a list for tomorrow’s releases.
I also would have liked to have seen “Milk” on the list. These others DVD titles seem as interesting as bad after school specials made for TV.
I like Jason Statham as an actor for more serious drama, his action roles just aren’t worth watching.
are you kidding me-what Serious roles has he done? I’ll admit Transporter 3 was not as good as the first 2 but still the action and fight scenes are great..
I liked London. I thought his acting skills were very decently displayed in that.
Redbox has been known to release a new movie to the box on any day of the week. If there’s delays for delivery to their stock they can’t prevent, they get put in later.
Mostly because of the greedy Universal corporate types being dicks lately.
I rented Life Without People, Thursday from a local redbox in Muncie IN. Role Models and Milk are listed as coming soon, have to wait and see how long soon will be.
Am I missing something or what? It seems that MILK is on the list and ROLE MODELS. Am I seeing something wrong. I also thought at one point about a month ago I saw FLASH OF GENIUS on the list but then it disappeared.
Fran, people posting here on this site are constantly are wrong about the day of the week. Milk and Role Models are both on the list for release for TOMORROW – TOMORROW is TUESDAY, not today… TOMORROW! LOL
I rented Flash of Genius from Redbox last week. If it’s not showing up at a specific kiosk in your city, that means all copies have been rented out for more than a day. It’s still available if you look around. If ALL copies from ALL kiosks have been out for a while, check back a day or so later and they will be shown as available again once they have been returned.
Turnip, I doubt if anyone posting here is confused about the day of the week. As of Monday morning, this list for Tuesday’s releases didn’t include “Milk” or “Role Models”. As of Monday night, these titles had been added.
Oh, no? Go back to last week’s topic “Redbox Announces Free Movie Wednesday’s in March” you will see that no less than three people were confused about the day of the week.
Where is Vikki Christina Barcelona? P. Cruz won the academy award for best supporting actress.
drssolo1, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” is a Weinstein Company title. Weinstein signed an exclusive deal with Blockbuster to carry their titles, which is why Redbox doesn’t carry it.
^ And that is part of the reason the Weinstein Company is such a joke. Most of there movies are crap, and what kind of business sense is it to sign an exclusive deal with a company who will be filing for bankruptcy anyday now?
Netflix has it. The deal is exclusive but that does not prevent a company from buying copies at full retail value and converting to rental. Probably too expensive for redbox but still at least possible.
Anyone else having trouble finding Milk or Role Models. Weird the last Universal release I was able to get on day one so I thought maybe the whole thing was settled I guess not. But neither of these releases are Universal according to IMDb.com
Role Models

Milk

Yeah, I tried Milk for a ton of different zip codes in my area…..no boxes have it. Hmm.
I tried finding MILK in my area (Kansas City) and got frustrated when I couldn’t find one, so I went out on a limb and started trying zip codes for Chicago, New York and Houston. Nothing. Someone inside RedBox must be a homophobe eh?
The funny thing is where they are listed on the web site the picture is a generic cover, just text meaning to me that they couldn’t get them directly from the distributors as in they aren’t authorized to use the real cover art like the other movies.
Hit “FIND A MOVIE”.
They are not in any boxes around me.
Well I was able to find Milk a few days later. Was helping some family on the other side of town they went to RedBox and what do you know some lady said she just returned it and so we got it. I just checked using a different zip code and what do you know 1 location actually has Role Models now. I’m under the assumption that the ones in my Zip Code (78228) San Antonio, TX, never got the movies in.
When I tried to get “Milk” and “Role Models” this morning, they were not on the list.
There was a delay in procuring those titles they will be in the machines later in the week so dont worry. Blame Universal!
I think I shall!
Dear Universal: You suck!
I called rredbox about role models not being available
they said it was a problem with the shipping and it should be in the box by the end of the week.
Dear Redbox, Please carry Flash of Genius (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054588/). It was release on DVD in Feburary. Truely inspirational story about the inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper who had his ideas stolen by Ford and how he fought the biggest corporation in the world.
I see the movies “Role Model ” and “Milk” listed on the main page but can’t find it in a 100 mile radius. I read above post about it being in Muncie IN and looked in that zip and it is there although rented. So does that mean that it won’t be released in my area(Tennessee)?
As for “Milk” Redbox did have “Brokeback Mountain” but it didn’t seem to rent well. I did rent the new “Che” movie (lame) in Minneapolis. That was never on the master list of movies. I don’t see anything “political” so far in Redbox. Perhaps they have a strategy of rotating “nitch” DVD’s in one area at a time. Perhaps, Redbox wants to “milk” “Milk” (pun intended) by shifting DVD’s between reasons. That is actually a good business strategy.
Report problems at Redboxes. On unit near me had a dead typewriter “key”. I went to another Redbox nearby for a free Monday movie and they sent me this reply email (code and service rep redacted) It never hurts to be the “eyes” for our friends at Redbox, my favorite DVD rental.

Came up with one mcdonalds redbox with Milk and Role Models without cover in the closest 10 redbox in portland, OR. Though some punk kid beat me to Role Model, argh I hate waiting for other fellow redbox prome’s. If you have the capacity to get the code at least have your shit picked out before you get there, just my feelings.
I can’t seem to find “Life After People” anywhere. It’s listed here as a new release and on the machine as a new release but isn’t listed anywhere on the redbox website. it says “Title not found”. Has anyone found this title anywhere? I’m in Georgia.
Life after people was not listed on my redbox as a new release but I found it by going thru the list by alphabet.
Hope this helps.
Thursday Update: I’ve found “Milk” at locations all over Oklahoma City and “Role Models” in a couple kiosks.
To correct an earlier comment – I had forgotten that I got Flash of Genius from Netflix, not Redbox.
Milk hit redboxes Thursday morning!!!!!!!!!!! And role Models.
Rented Milk and Role Models on Thursday & was happy to actually pay the $1 fee for each. (Long wait for both in my Netflix que) Have enjoyed many free rentals and like to actually pay for them sometimes. A dollar a night can’t be beat and I want Redbox to be around for a long time.
Milk was very good & Role Models amusing.
Milk is not available here in San Diego. It was listed as going to be available on Monday and Tuesday it was listed as a nw release then Wednesday it disappeared off all the machines in my area. I tried 5 different locations and its like it never exisited. If I go to the website and try to reserve it I cant and tried a all 10 locations listed not a single copy. DVDPlay doesnt have it either.
I rented Milk and Role Models in Kentucky yesterday. I walked in Walmart and saw a guy servicing the machine and asked him. He was just putting them in the box. So maybe there was a delay in getting them out.
Does anyone know what day they show the new releases for the coming week?
why does the red box say they have “role models ” but not have it on the movie list?
