This week…
The empty redbox case! ;)
I’ll just give my upcoming lists in advance:
December 21, 2010
“Salt”
December 28, 2010
“Knight and Day”
January 4, 2011
“Inception”
January 11, 2011
“The Social Network”
“The Town”
January 18, 2011
“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”
“Stone”
I like your upcoming list Shemp. Everything on it is something I look forward to renting also. :-)
I’ll try The Other Guys and The Kids Are Alright. Both have actors iwould watch in just about anything. (Will Ferrell and Bening, Moore & Ruffalo)
Isn’t True Grit an old John Wayne western? I know the remake with Jeff Bridges is coming to theaters soon.
Will pick up Lottery Ticket. Heard it funny.
Classic studio/redbox strategy…
Both the 1969 True Grit title, available on the 14th as a redbox replay, and the Coen brother’s remake scheduled for theatrical release on December 22, 2010 are from Paramount.
It’s too bad that Disney isn’t following this strategy with Tron. I would have liked to see the original in anticipation of Tron Legacy. I’ve read some that their market research with current 15-year-olds made them cancel their plans for re-release of the original. You can’t get the original Tron from Netflix and Amazon is charging over $100 for a copy.
The movie is Out of Print, hence the high prices, so there’s no way Redbox would carry it. It’s on YouTube though.
There’s an article in Wired that basically says that Disney was afraid the outdated effects and slow story would actually hurt Tron Legacy. Remember the movie was not a big hit when it came out; it’s become a cult film later.
Kitty Galore…..? I wish! :-o

I’ll probably rent The Other Guys and The Kids Are All Right. My library has True Grit, so I’ll rent it from their to watch it. I admit I have never seen it before. :(
Anyone with a Meijers store, use multi-use code MEJER45 , today Dec. 15th only, for free rentals. Put code in the Code section also.
redbox, i rent movies from redbox 3times and every time it did not play i hope with my money, they would fix problem
Anyone buying The Twilight Saga Eclipse on dvd or blu-ray, go to redplum.com and print a $8 off coupon. Not sure how long the coupon will be available for print. Eclipse is going to be on sale at Target for $15 starting this Sunday, so with the coupon it would only be $7.
