Inside Redbox is the #1 "Unofficial" Redbox Online Community for Redbox Codes, News and more. Inside Redbox is not affiliated with Redbox Automated Retail, LLC.

Finding the nearest Redbox kiosk when you’re on the go just got a little easier with the company’s new “location finder” text service. By texting “redbox” to 50101 from your mobile device, users will receive an incoming message requesting a ZIP code. Replying to that message will bring up a list of the Redbox kiosks in the area. Redbox is partnering with software-as-a-service provider Signal to offer the new service.

Redbox senior VP Gary Cohen offered the following on the new text service:

“With more than 24,000 locations and counting, finding the nearest redbox location has never been easier . . . Our mobile programs continue to enhance the redbox experience and make finding the latest film or the closest redbox simple for consumers.”

Will you be using this new service, Insiders? Also, don’t forget to check out the free Inside Redbox Pro app, which besides assisting with kiosk location also allows you to browse the inventory of your local kiosks, search all the latest movies available at Redbox, and get the latest promo codes.

You can actually just text the ZIP code to 50101 and that works too

I just tried it out. I had to text “redbox” first because just texting my zip code didn’t work.

That’s lame that you have to send two text messages. For those of us that don’t have unlimited texting, that is.

Redbox only give Free Rental Monday code to people with cellphone texting. I used to get the code in my email, then I stopped seeing it since April? May? I contacted them about not having a cell phone and asked them to continue to send me the free code via email. The email respond told me how to get back on the list via their website, which is non-existence.

It appears Redbox only interested in targeting people with cellphone texting. They do not feel other groups of people are important, so I am not spending my money with them. I am doing all my rentals with BB Express now for I do not want one company(Redbox) to monopolize a business which is bad and unhealthy. BB Express has several glitches to work out and we need to be patience so that Redbox is not the only business in town, any town.

Redbox no longer care about Customer Service. Their goal is to be claimed the biggest movie kiosk rental company, by expanding their business. Their Customer Service (from India) is awful, and Redbox does not follow through with their ‘Rent 3 in xxxx and we will give you one free’ promotions.
