Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.
You’ve got an apocalyptic thriller/cautionary tale and an R-rated buddy comedy in wide release this week. Previews and the official trailers for Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Change Up are after the break.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
The venerable series gets a modern reboot using cutting-edge motion capture technology. The critics have been buzzing about this one—will moviegoers? Rated PG-13.
The Change Up
Ryan Reynolds (how many movies isn’t he in this summer?) and Jason Bateman try to put a new twist on the tired old “body-switching” formula. Rated R.
Will you be lured out of your cozy home this weekend to see either of these movies, Insiders?
Maybe Apes, definitely not The Change-Up.
Apes was great, made rerent original Planet of the Apes.
I saw both of these movies and enjoyed both but have to say the Apes was the better one if you only see one of them.
However, I want them both on DVD when they come out to share with friends!!!
