New DVD Releases for November 27, 2007

Six big new releases for the last week in November.

In the first DVD, the confusion starts with the title and goes from there. In I Know Who Killed Me, Lindsay Lohan plays a teen who gets kidnapped and tortured. When she escapes and regains consciousness in the hospital, she struggles to convince authorities that she’s not the abducted teen they thinks she is.

Julia Ormond and Neal McDonough co-star.

You might be between holidays, but your favorite bizarre Brit is right in the middle of his. Rowan Atkinson stars in Mr. Bean’s Holiday, and he takes a trip to Cannes. There Bean accidentally separates a young boy from his father, and has to reunite the two…if he can find the time between falling off bikes, finding love and touring France. Steve Pemberton and Lily Atkinson are along for the ride too.

Next up, the star of all those whack Saturday Night Live “digital shorts” hits the big screen — on a beat-up motorcycle. In Hot Rod, Andy Samberg stars as Rod Kimble, a stuntman (of sorts) who’s planning to jump a bunch of school busses. Bill Hader and Isla Fisher co-star to help the daredevil raise funds for his stepfather’s operation.

The kids are back to school this week.

Redbox is sending you there, too. In the high school comedy Bratz, four really challenging teenage girls go head-to-head with the headmaster, who wants them to be a little less cliquey and join other social groups. Logan Browning, Janel Parrish, Nathalie Ramos and Skyler Shaye star as the title characters.

The last new release of the week is Waitress, starring Keri Russell. She plays a pregnant, unhappy and hard-working server. Her husband (Jeremy Sisto) is a dud, and she’s all but given up on true happiness. That all changes when Dr. Pomatter (played by Matthew Fillion) strolls into town and puts on the charm.

Don’t forget about the bang up action from last week in Live Free or Die Hard. Bruce Willis returns as NYC cop John McClane, a grizzled vet with a knack for one-liners. Justin Long stars as a computer hacker on the run, and Timothy Olyphant stars as a villain looking to create chaos.

As always, movie fans, these releases can be selected online and picked up at your nearest redbox.
