Netflix has scored another deal giving it streaming content during the window typically reserved for pay-TV channels. The new agreement, with Nu Image/Millennium Films, is a multiyear deal that will provide Netflix’s streaming service with up to ten theatrical films per year shortly after they are released on DVD. Nu Image/Millennium is the studio behind such movies as The Expendables, The Black Dahlia and Righteous Kill.
The deal comes as more than 60% of Netflix’s 15 million-strong customer base have used its streaming service.
