Inside Redbox member UBM has informed us of a promotion currently happening at participating McDonalds’s locations. According to UBM, buyers of medium or large smoothies will receive a coupon for a free Redbox rental.

she also mentions the promotion as well.
Also if you get the Sunday Paper, there is a coupon in there for a FREE Smoothie
as well:

Called around my local McDonalds near Pgh, PA and they are not offering the redbox code on the smoothie. Might be just at McDonalds that actually have Redbox kiosks. Printed the coupon from the link for the free Smoothie, so thanks anyway :-) Free Smoothie!
Oops! Get so excited when a ‘coupon’ is mentioned! That is a $1 off printable coupon, but the Sunday Parade coupon that I also got is definitely for a ‘free’ smoothie. In the past, I’ve already called/emailed/requested my local McDonalds to get Redbox kiosks/ participate in the McDonalds/Redbox many Redbox promo code promotions such McDonalds offer. Hasn’t happened yet :-( When I go redeem my smoothie coupons, think I’ll actually talk to the managers, face to face, about getting Redbox kiosks and start participating in these McD/Redbox promotions. Maybe that will work!
got the $1 coupon for the smoothie — no redbox free rental at my McDonald’s in Minneapolis area
i just bought one a few days ago in bristol ri and no redbox coupon
If they show the sign on the menu board you have to ASK for your FREE RENTAL
when they HAND YOU THE SMOOTHIE. Apparently, the cashiers know about this,
but the second window people ( the ones that hand you your food) are either forgetful or lazy, and you have to remind them of their job.
Here is my most recent trip, about 7 mins ago:
the sign:

My order, showing the Redbox promo card:

This is the same card they usually give out with the meal promos,
it doesn’t expire until 8/22/2010.
I am sorry to say this but this does not seem like a deal! You buy a smoothie which is a couple dollars and you get a free RedBox code which only equals to a dollar and some change. I don’t see the point, I might as well just go spend the dollar and rent the movie right out of the RedBox, just sayin! I respect the RedBox company and McDonalds for trying to promote, just don’t think this one is worth it!
If only there were Redboxes at my local McDonald’s
I don’t go to McD’s, but I do like Smoothies. If the local one offered the Redbox deal and with the coupon, it would be worth it. But that would depend on how much they cost.
Are the smoothies good?
Has anyone tried them?
I went to Mcdonald’s today. They were not giving away free codes when you buy a smoothie. they gave you a choice of a buy 5 get one free frapps punch card when you buy their coffee or get a free $1.00 item if you buy a smoothie. Was really looking forward to the free code. I spent $3.00 for a medium frapp.
MY STRONG SUGGESTION would be to circle the drive through on the MCDonalds
before going in or placing an order. If you look at my last post, all you
have to look for is the PROMOTION on the menu board to tell
if that McDonalds is participating.
And as far as cost breakdown, a Medium Straberry Banana Smoothie
( my favorite of the two, the other being WildBerry) is $2.58 ( tax included)
with $1.00 off coupon, it lowered to $1.58. Redbox rental is $1.07 here
with Tax, so you end up paying .51¢ for a Redbox rental if you
want to look at it that way….
