TGIF! Every week on “Freebie Friday” we offer our readers an opportunity to win free prizes. This week we’re giving away 5-packs of free Redbox rentals to three lucky winners!
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters this weekend. It will doubtlessly make a lot of money, but many are wondering if the Spider-Man franchise needed rebooting so quickly after the previous installment. To enter this week’s contest, answer the following question in the comments section below:
Which superhero franchise do you think should be left alone for a while?
After The Dark Knight Rises comes out in a few weeks, should Batman be given a rest? What about Superman, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Iron Man, etc.? What’s your pick for the superhero franchise that has (at least temporarily) overstayed its welcome?
On Monday the 9th we will pick three winners at random from the submitted comments. Each winner will receive five free Redbox rentals! Multiple comments will disqualify you, so please respond just once.

its a tie….superman and spiderman….won’t spend another dime on remakes…..
Batman for SURE needs to take a rest. I can’t help but agree with everyone else – too many for way too long with too many different actors.
I have to say Spiderman needs to be given a rest. There are just so many movies between originals, remakes, animated, and sequels. It’s tiring even seeing the new remakes on tv commercials, let alone being mentioned on shows.
everything
Superman! definitely, superman. the last few installments were so “same ole’ story-ish; you feel me. i mean gosh, boy meets villian, villian gets Kryptonite; boy avoids death by kryptonite by some ridiculously unbelievable happen-stance. give me a break. clark kent is superman; there! Duh! enough already.
all of them
spiderman- just seems like its becoming a major bore with all the hype out there, Over advertising and such.
Both of them – some new good movies would be very welcome!
I´m not big on superheroes, so I wouldn´t miss any of them if they took a decade-long or so rest!
Spiderman, same old thing over and over, and the costume is goofy. I am not a fan of the genre in general, so they can all go away.
The Marvel Avengers/Iron Man/Thor/Captain America run – they don’t need to mess it up by trying to capitalize on their successes. But keep Batman coming – just not too fast! Take time to get it right.
That burning skeleton guy deal!
Batman. Definitely BATMAN.
The Fantastic Four
Batman
The X-MEN , While I liked them all they seemed to jump around to quickly with the characters. What happened to Sabertooth from the first movie, he is not going down that easily, plus he looks completely different than in the Wolverine movie. Professor-X died, Toad died in the first movie, Jean Gray died twice once as Jean Gray and than as The Phoenix.
Iron Man. The second one was pathetic. Why can’t Hollyweird find something original?
Spider-Man.
I think Spider-Man.
I think X-Men could use a rest!!
There are so many Super Heroes and Heroines in comicbookland, lets explore a few of them before any of the current crop of super hero movies are redone. Unfortunately, Hollywood (like most politicians) never like to embrace anything new. They just try to dress up the tried and true and tell us it is new and exciting.
Wonder Woman would be an interesting diversion for a thought Hollywood.
Though they have all been good movies, I think Spiderman & Batman have equally been made and remade quite enough!
i think spiderman i like it but i hate when new actors start coming out if it was like part 5 of the original that would be cool
I think Spiderman. Would like to see more ironman
