First off, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone! Since last Tuesday, I have received many entries for the InsideRedbox Logo contest. Because of these entries, I have been able to narrow down and better clarify what I am looking for in the new design for this site. Below you will find details on the revised contest…

This last week as been great for Redbox Codes - with the addition of multiple new codes in the last 7 days. These codes are listed below…

And, last Tuesday I was contacted by Fox News and they requested to do an interview with me in regards to this website. Read more about this interview in the full update below…

LOGO CONTEST 2.0

Thanks to YOU, I have really been able to figure out what I want the new logo and new InsideRedbox.com website to look like. I appreciate all of the entries and comments. I hope that the new direction from me will help everyone better understand what I am looking for and better focus your entries.

I have broken this up into 2 parts: “The Logo” and “The Name”. You are also welcome to put in an entry for just “The Logo”, just “The Name”, or both.

The Logo: For the logo, what I am really looking for is a graphic (most likely a vector graphic) that shows the visitor upon first look what this website is about. Perhaps something with a dvd, a “red” box, a tv, etc… It should NOT contain a photo. It should NOT contain the site name or any text.

The Name: This should be an artistic (likely vector) representation of the name of the site: “Inside Redbox”. The .com part is not necessary. I want to be able to reuse the “Inside” part of this graphic on other sites I am working on currently, and the “Redbox” portion of the graphic will be unique to this site. You can combine the words in an artistic fashion, but note that I will need to be able to combine the “Inside” part of the graphic in the same way in the other sites.

You are welcome to use a simple graphic to replace a letter in “The Name” if you feel in contributes to the overall theme. Please note that the “Inside” part is very important, as it will serve as an identity for at least 3 other sites, possibly more.

But, after all this has been said, feel free to use your creativity how you know best. I am certainly not an artist - I just wanted to give stricter guidelines for you to follow. So, please take this info as guidelines, and nothing more.

Thanks again to everyone who has submitted something so far. Each entry has helped shape what I want the final graphics to look like.

As before, go ahead and send your entries via email to “contest [at] insideredbox [dot] com”. If at all possible, use a standard graphic format such as PNG, GIF, or PSD. If you are working in Illustrator, please don’t send an AI file, but a PNG instead.

PRIZE UPDATE: Remember, the winner of this contest will get to work with me on some future (paid) projects, my other “Inside” sites, and get a link to their website from InsideRedbox.com. Also, if I use a part of your graphic, but you are not the overall winner, you will get “6 months FREE rentals at the Redbox” courtesy of InsideRedbox.com

As always, feel free to ask questions and leave comments below.

I don’t have the exact date yet, but I will be sure to let you know when I do. I will also do everything I can to get a copy of the video posted here on the site.

So, stay tuned for this, and if you are not signed up for our “Insider Updates”, make sure you signup today using the signup form on the right-side of this page.

Thats it for this week. Make sure you “Tell-a-Friend” about us, and if you know any graphic designers, let them know about the contest.

Until next time - keep enjoying those free movies!
