Archive for August, 2006

It is once again time for another Redbox update. Labor Day is just around the corner (where did the time go?) and we should be seeing the new Redbox.com website and more summer blockbusters coming to DVD. I think we are in for a good September.

For those of you who are long-time readers, you may be wondering what happened to the weekly update for the past few weeks. Well, I have been “lost” in a lot of work around the house. We are going to be moving soon, and we had quite a bit to do to get the house ready for sale. Now things should be back to normal, so you can get your weekly updates without further interruption!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Last time I asked about the idea of having a contest where you can win a prize (or even $1000). I got quite a mixed response, but overall it was good. So, I have not forgotten, and will get to it shortly.

This week I want the questions to come from you. I was wondering if there was anything you wanted to ask Redbox (the company). I know that Redbox employees and mangement reads this site, so I thought you could ask whatever questions you wanted to know about Redbox, and they can provide answers for us. So, let it begin…

Question: What do you most want to know about Redbox? (as a company, business, the rental process.. whatever) Ask a question, any question, and we will see what answers we get.

NEW RELEASES

I am thinking about putting the movies in a seperate post each week (actually, I already did) instead of putting them here. I am yet undecided, so I will put it here, too, this week.

Movies: Sentinel, Take the Lead, Brother Bear 2, Zodiac, Friends With Money, Akeelah and the Bee, and Stephen King’s Desperation.

TV: Desperate Housewives: Season 2

As always, tell us what you think about these movies/shows in the Movie Talk forum.

REDBOX CODES

There are quite a few new codes working since the last update. Some of them are:

OK, well that is all for this week. Look forward to the announcement of the new Redbox.com (I will send an email as soon as I know it is ready) where you will be able to check what movies are in your local Redbox at any given time.

Have a great week and enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

Yet another week has went by, bringing us closer to the end of summer… and closer to the new online system at Redbox.com. As many of you commented last week, the ability to check the availability of movies online will be great for everyone.

Last week I mentioned a contest – a way for you to win $1000. I am postponing this a week to give everyone a chance to know about it and participate. So, look for more info next week.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

As I mentioned earlier, the concencus is that you all will definitely use the new movie system at Redbox.com. In fact, I don’t think anyone posted that they wouldn’t use it. So, kudos to Redbox for adding a new feature everyone will like.

This week I want to ask you about having contests on InsideRedbox.com.

Question: Would you participate in a contest where you can win cash and/or prizes for completing a sponsored (free) offer? Why or why not?

Click here and scroll to the bottom to answer this week’s question.

Thanks so much for your participation!

NEW RELEASES THIS WEEK

TV: Prison Break: Season 1

Wow! Can you believe August is here already? Its been a pretty lame summer for movies overall, but we can look forward to some great releases through the rest of the year.

Also, some new features over a Redbox.com will be of a great help. And, you can bet on some new things coming here at InsideRedbox, too…

QUESTION OF THE WEEK (+ NEW FEATURE)

Our last question had to do with your preference of movie genre. As expected, we all have various types of movies we like. It seems every style was represented, and I am sure Redbox will continue with a good mix into the future.

As I mentioned, Redbox is going to beadding a new feature to their website very soon. This feature will allow you to check what movies are currently available in your local Redbox. What I want to know this week, is will you use it?

Question: Will you use the Redbox.com website to check if what you want to see is in the Redbox before going out to pick-up a movie?

NEW RELEASES

This week’s major releases are: The Shaggy Dog and V for Vendetta. I will add the other releases as I find out what they are.

Also, last week had some good releases, too, with the major releases of The Benchwarmers, Final Destination 3, and Deep Water.

And, as you have probably noticed, Redbox is continuing to add TV shows to the mix. But my question is when will they add the most popular shows, like 24, Lost, Numb3rs, Smallville, etc…

Click here to discuss Movies and TV in the Redbox Forums.

I am not sure of the Redbox revenue model for TV shows, but it seems they could do a big service to the television networks by getting people hooked on their shows. The networks could provide the DVDs for free to Redbox, and Redbox just does some “advertising” for them, and everyone is happy. Is this how it is happening? I would love to know…

REDBOX CODES

As you may have noticed, there haven’t been too many new codes added over the summer. There are still a good number of codes working, and with the “reset” glitch Redbox had a few weeks ago, it bought a lot of us the ability to reuse previously used codes.

Anyway, I expect to see more codes as we come into the fall. Who knows, though? Stay tuned and we will see what happens together.

COMING NEXT WEEK…

Since all of you contribute a great deal to this site, I want to help you… About 20 of you will get $1000 or more just for completing 1 free offer. I will explain all the details next week, so stay tuned.

In the mean time, tell your friends about this website. The more people who know about this site, the more that will be able to receive the $1000.

Tell a friend or two about InsideRedbox.com today…

Have a great week, and make sure you tell us about the movies you have seen in the Redbox Movie Forum.

Until next time…
