imagesUs too! That’s the cry that seems to be issuing forth from HBO’s competitors in the wake of the premium channel’s announcement that it will be launching a subscription, over-the-top (OTT) video service partnership with Apple.

CBS CEO Les Moonves speaking to an investor group, said that Showtime will be launching its own OTT service in the next few months.

Said Moonves:

“You’re going to see similar [Showtime OTT] announcements from us in the coming months . . . “OTT is something that’s on everybody’s mind.

We’re entering into a new age.”

Moonves was quick to dismiss the notion that standalone OTT services will harm premium cable by drawing away people who would otherwise subscribe to a cable package:

“People are going to be slicing and dicing it in different ways. I don’t think there is any way shape or form anybody should look at [OTT video] other than a major positive for premium cable,”

Do you think Moonves really believes what he’s saying, Insiders, or is this “me too” attitude his only real option in the quickly shifting entertainment landscape?

if it’s going to work. They need to make it for PC’s not just apple..
And they need to make the price about like Netflix and Warner Archives..
    HBO’s $14 + a month. Pass on that.. $14 + a month. No way.. $ 8-10 a month.
    OK..

This is just a start of ala cart channel selection. My concern is the amount these channels will cost. I have cut the cord years ago. I would consider this to get just the channels I watch. Showtime does not have enough programming for me to subscribe at this time. I agree with Danofive0 that $14 plus taxes is too much.

Intuit do definitely not recommend any vacation Quick – Books hosting service provider
and do not give guarantee for that services provided by even people
that are certified by simply Intuit. Always keep an accurate record of your
transactions. And remember, if the child goes away to school, and you are providing more than 50% support, you may still claim head of household status even during the
    absence of the child.

It might actually drive people back to Cable simply because we’ll either see the cable companies try to be more competitive in price and options OR we’re going to see every network do this and the al-a-carte option will end up costing more than some premium cable packages.

Weird. I must have hit the wrong button as that wasn’t meant to be a comment to obvious spam.
