Inside Redbox is the #1 "Unofficial" Redbox Online Community for Redbox Codes, News and more. Inside Redbox is not affiliated with Redbox Automated Retail, LLC.

downloadRedbox recently showed off a new system at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show that lets shoppers know when a Redbox kiosk is located on the property they’re on. It will also let them know what movies are in stock in the box and if there are any current promotions going on.

The new system works with an app on Bluetooth-enabled phones, and is currently in the conceptual stage with no official launch date set. Redbox is also testing customized emails and texts to customers based on their rental histories that are sent at times the customers have historically visited Redboxes.

Mike Wokosin, vice president of digital marketing, said the following about Redbox’s ongoing efforts to personalize the Redbox experience:

“As we look at 2015, that same type of personalization engine that’s driving those personal recommendations in emails will also drive those recommendations in a text, as well as on the website . . . It all comes back to making sure the message is as relevant to you as it can be.

Is this new customization focus for Redbox creepy or canny?

One more reason I dropped my cell phone. This is a bit over the wall.
I know where all 10 RedBox’s are with in 4 miles of me. If I want to know what they have. I can look it up..
P.S. The last three codes I got did not work ;(
This may be ok for some… But I will pass…

Very creepy! I don’t want another website tracking everything I do and watch.

Ridiculous and not needed. Every Redbok Kiosk I’ve ever seen is within 10 feet of the front door in all situations. You think they are going to start hiding them away behind women’s shoes in WalMart ? Doubt it. Get off our backs and stop tracking us. I had a ceremony recently where 3 friends and I smashed our cell-phones with a sledgehammer. I never felt freer in my life. It was like having 10 tons lifted of my shoulders. None of us will ever use a cell phone again. They have gone way beyond their intended use and turned 3 generations of children into electro-zombies. Kids can’t even hold a conversation because they don’t know how anymore.

      BD…. Well said and 100% right….
Cell Phones can be of great use… But tracking people with them.. And your every move… Pass on that…
I dropped my cell phone also…
The kids can’t ever hold a conversation now.. And you are so right about that…
      They are all zombies now..
And right again.. 10 feet in is a RedBox. I have 10 of them with in 5 miles of me… As if I need that many..
