Inside Redbox is the #1 "Unofficial" Redbox Online Community for Redbox Codes, News and more. Inside Redbox is not affiliated with Redbox Automated Retail, LLC.

It’s not a free Redbox rental, but it’s close. Tomorrow, April 14, Redbox is offering a “50-cent Thursday” discount code valid at any Redbox kiosk. When you enter the promo code “THURSDAY” at checkout tomorrow, you’ll receive a 50-cent discount on the first night of your rental, making a DVD rental cost $.50 and a Blu-ray rental cost $1.

The code is only valid on April 14, 2011, and will only work once per credit card and per transaction. Visit Redbox’s website here for the full details. Any Insiders planning on getting a 1/2 off movie rental tomorrow?

This better just be a test and not an end to free rental codes. :(

According to Coinstar the average transaction is around $2.20. So they hope you get the one rental and keep it for 2 days at $1.50. Look for more offers like this and less free rental codes in the future.

Yup, Free codes had to end sometime, so you better get used to it.
Codes coming from here on out will be with Promotional Partners
( Walgreens, CVS) and “push incentive” partners ( Groupon, Living Social),
but beyond the Free Monday code ( and of course codes for when machines
glitch at checkout), you can hang it up fellow redboxers. :)

We all gotta do our fair share to get the economy out of the toilet.

Redbox is putting ALL of their competitors out of business, and buying some of them. It couldn’t hurt to share a bit of the good luck with their customers who stand outside in the rain in a line of ten people, waiting for their turn at the kiosk. The occasional free rental is part of what made Redbox so attractive. It’s a shame that once a business has cornered a market that they have to give in to greed, i.e. cellphone companies, gasoline companies, etc.

If you rent two movies that’s still just like buy one get one free. So isn’t that like getting a free code?

I tried this so called “special offer” myself only to find out, when I rented my movies, that it wouldn’t work. The machine told me that the promo code was invalid. Thanks alot redbox!!!
