Summer’s finally here, and Redbox is helping herald the return of warm weather with a new promotion! Starting today and running until June 12, when you rent two movies at the same time, Redbox will give you a free one-night DVD rental. More details are after the break.
The movies must be rented in a single transaction, and you must enter your email address either during checkout at the kiosk or when you reserve online. You will receive your free promo code within 72 hours, and must use the code within a week of receiving it. Check out Redbox’s “Summer Fun & Games” page for complete details.

These promos do not work for me. I can not sit down for 4 and a half hrs or longer to watch movies. I only watch one a day.

I never got my promo codes last time there was a “rent 2 get one free” promo.
If you call redbox and explain it, they’ll give you the promo code right over the phone. Their real good about that and you’ll have no problem. It been happening to me for months and when I don’t get my codes via text, they are happy to give it.
I just splurged and rented 4 movies this past saturday evening! And THEN a promo comes out? I didn’t get my promo codes the last time either when there was a rent 2 get one free promo. That really bites.
Me neither. I logged in but still could not see the Promo code. It should just go straight into my in-box just like blockbuster showing what the code is.
3 movies for one night? It is just too much for me. sorry.
I’m thinking you wouldn’t have to personally watch them. I for one have children, so these kind of promos are nice. A couple for the kids to watch, one for mommy and daddy. See?

I have tried several times to get promo codes from RedBox and have never succeeded. I usually end up turning to Blockbuster. Their system is much simpler and straight forward. “Here’s the code…enter it in the appropriate box at checkout, and that’s it. Why does RedBox make it so darn complicated?
I am new to this, how do you get promo codes? Tried to look under the FAQ section but its down.
I avoid all complicated promotions. In this case, rent 2 today. Get a promo code some how in so many hours. Use the code within so many hours. It is only a couple of bucks, but I don’t need complications to save a dollar or two. Everyone forgets the cost of fuel and the title you want is not always available. The DVD can be reserved online, but that means additional time to another Redbox. Redbox is very good at taking care of you over the phone. I guess stuff like this is designed for the young ones that only have movies on their mind, lots of time and Dad is paying for the gasoline. It is a great baby sitter and you know where your kid is.
Amazingly there are 3 kiosks within about 1 mile from my apartment, so we usually walk, and if their is a movie we really want to see, we reserve it online. Usually there is one between the 3 that usually has it.
I rented 2 DVD’s Monday night so I’m still waiting on a promo code from them, but we’ll see.
My daughter received a promocode for rent one free movie. It did not work. I hope my promo works when I receive it. I rented 2 movies today & entered my email address.
I have rented 2 movies at a time twice in the past week. Yesterday I was emailed my first code & today I received my second. I have one week in which to use each code. All things considering, not a bad promotion.
Received two promo codes that didn’t work. Got a message which said “Sorry promo code can’t be used at this time”. This message appeared every time I went to rent a movie using these codes.
