download (1)Netflix got in pretty hot water with its subscribers the last time it implemented a major price increase. While the company has remained pretty mum on the next time it will hike prices, the signs are pointing to that day coming sooner rather than later.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings revealed that price hikes will be coming in a recent investor meeting, but was careful to not divulge anything more specific:

“We want to take it very slow. Over the next decade I think we’ll be able to add more content and have more value and then price that appropriately.

Netflix is reportedly spending nearly five times its net revenue on content acquisition, which is unsustainable in the long run. How much do you think Netflix will need to raise its prices to become more profitable without alienating its subscribers?

They do need to be very careful right now. It won’t take much to get many people to leave again, myself included. They already have several people coming off the 2 year lock in starting in May, so if they raise prices again before that, it would be like a double hit. I don’t want to go from 7.99 to 11.99. Unless they plan on raising prices before that then telling us we only go to 9.99 while others go to 11.99. Maybe they need to tier out for most costly content. I don’t know how deals are set up but it should be pay for stream if it isn’t as there’s many expensive content deals that I don’t ever stream at all, so why would I want to pay more?

Ok people/Lets get real…Really how long did you think NetFlix could keep doing what it is.. And not have some kind of price hike.
Take a good look at what they have online for you to watch.. No way can you get that anyplace but NetFlix for what they are charging.. I’m locked it at $7.99 a month until June 2016. Even if it goes up a few bucks. To say $9.99 like Warner Archives.. It’s still a great deal..
I have NetFlix. Hulu with Show Time, Warner Archives & Acron TV… For the UK Movies & TV shows.. All for $40.00 a month. $10.00 bucks a week. For more then you can ever watch…
Even if NetFlix goes to $9.99 a month for streaming.. Still a great deal……
    Just my two bits.

    *$10.00-15.00*

Prices will always be going up on all these services and with the industry facing the prospect of every home able to stream TV and Movies, the streaming revolution is well under way, so with more and more smart consumers cutting the cable and dumping dish, so it is just a matter of time people will wake up to new streaming media centers where you access everything you want when you want, that is the future as I have seen it which will put huge pressure on old industry to raise prices to compensate for loss of subscribers.

Everything is going up for prices. I wished Netflix had an ondemand payments beside subscriptions since I don’t watch that much.

It wouldn’t take much for me to bail. Most all streaming they offer now is not of interest to me, and the movies I am interested in, I have already seen.
If they are going to raise prices they need to beef up their new releases and bring in some new movies before they are 3 and 4 years old.
I had started watching some series shows. The series has now ended on TV and Netflix as not added the last season, and it’s been a year. They have also removed series in the middle of me watching too.
    Get on the stick Netflix!

Here is what’s going to hit everyone in the next few years.. Caps on your Net use. The Cable Co’s are going to need to make up $$. Form all the cord cutting.. And they will by putting caps on the net use. And then OPS… Your Net bill will go from $60,70 a month to about $140 are so a month.. More? Then what….
    Just a thought..
