    has anyone noticed that we sometimes still get charged for these free rentals! i had two code from buying pizza this weekend and i have been charged for both rentals..looking to call redbox try to fing #!

      These are only temporary charges, or should be. It’s how Redbox tests to see if your card is valid. Sometimes they take many days to dissappear off my credit card statement.

          Why didn’t you listen (or read with comprehension) when the Credit Card company told you how your card works? You must have a lame CC company if it actually shows on your printed statement. Would you care to mention their name(s)?

        I’ve had some prepaid cards that I used that took like 2 or 3 weeks for the temporary charges to disappear.

      You should put in the rental code before your checkout process. When I goto Redbox, I press the ” Rent with Promo Code” button to the lower left on the main screen. If the movie screen comes up, then the code is GOOD!

        I never noticed the “REnt with Promo Code” button. Thanks for the heads up.
        I received Promo Codes for five Sundays. The Code for the first Sunday worked, but the next two Sundays have not worked (they have to be done at a Walmart). Do you know anything about this?

      I’ve been charged a few times. I always see the “hold” on the account, and usually it drops off the account after a few days, but there have been 3(?) occasions where a charge for $1.06 has been placed on the account even though the film was returned before 9pm the next day.

      Calls to Redbox have not resulted in any satisfaction. I’m not sure what causes it.

      they will charge you for them at first but when you return them, they will return your money.

    I think when you use code they charge only to have your information but i read after a few days you get your money back 0.00$$ charge

    i tried using a redbox code last night and it didn’t go through. wondering, do you have to put a credit card through first? i thought if i had a promo code, i wouldn’t need a card, but i guess you do for returns, to make sure you bring it back on time.

    I was tripping at first when I looked at my chase card bill and it stated pending charges of 1.00 on the redbox rental, I noticed that once I returned it before the 9pm time the next day it came off my card, so dont worry , also the codes like breakroom and dvdonme work for one carded account every month so enjoy peeps

    I think Redbox won the war without Blockbuster knowing there was a battle. Not only are we getting free rentals (thanx bunches) but they won this one without firing a shot (running ads). I never heard anything about Redbox before I found these freebies. Now I have been telling friends an fam. We have a Walgreens on every other corner in Cleveland and one of these in the grocery two blocks from my house. It would be a lot quicker rental if I didn’t have to explain what the box is to all the bystanders in the store. They walked right by and didn’t know what it is, after the explanation they can’t believe it’s only a buck. Purty snky Redbox.
