imagesOscar winner Kevin Spacey, whose original series House of Cards has been a monster hit for Netflix, recently gave a speech at the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival. In his remarks, Spacey declared that the lines are quickly blurring between film, television, and online entertainment, and that to consumers, content is just content.

Spacey believes that consumers simply want to watch what they want, when they want it, and that Netflix was the only place for his show to thrive because, “We wanted to start to tell a story that would take a long time to tell. We were creating a sophisticated, multi-layered story with complex characters who would reveal themselves over time, and relationships that would need space to play out,”
