Netflix_just_rolled_out_a-23308e111c03d9879747487ba767324cRumors are flying around Wall Street that a couple of enormous companies—Apple and Disney—are mulling a purchase of Netflix. The initial report comes from R.W. Baird financial analyst William Power who said that Netflix’s name keeps coming up in merger and acquisition chats, and that “whether Disney, Apple or someone else, Netflix could become a target.”

The Disney possibility is especially interesting to Monness Crespi Hardt & Co.’s James Cakmak, who said the following:

“What Disney has to think about is what is its place in a post cord-cutting world . . . They are investing in technology for distribution — and this would give them the platform to reach audiences around the world.”

What do you think, Insiders? Is Netflix going to get snatched up by a much larger company? What would that do for the home entertainment industry and customer experience?

Who cares. All that matters to the consumer is cost and program availability. If the price stays the same I will continue to subscribe.

That would be horrible. They would ruin it.
