Redbox is expanding again… and this time it is into convenience stores.

While many of you have see Redbox at 7-11, Maverik, and others already, Redbox is finally announcing a major expansion into these stores over the coming months.

The expansion includes: 7-Eleven, Maverik, Thorntons and Royal Farms.

“We have developed strong relationships with our convenience store partners and both execute around a similar goal, saving busy consumers extra time in their day while offering terrific value and convenience,” said Gary Lancina, Redbox VP of marketing.

The major announcement is with 7-Eleven, with Redbox planning to place their kiosk in over 2,600 locations over the coming months, starting immediately.

With 12,000 kiosks already, these additional locations will bring Redbox to nearly 15,000. That is a lot, and gives them a nice head start on the likes of Blockbuster and others.

I am guessing they will hit 20,000 kiosks next year.

    How Funny!
Blockbuster CEO Jim Keyes came originally from 7-eleven,
and now Redbox will take over 7-Eleven’s movie rental business.
    AWESOME!
I have 5 Redboxes on my drive home every day, now add to that the six
7 Eleven’s around my house and I have no problem getting
    my movies!

I’d like to know if it’s possible …………….. “what states will 7-11 be getting the Redbox kiosks”?
I live in PA………….. We don’t have many of the stores you distribute the movies to.
    No McDonalds have kiosks
    No Walgreens have kiosks
No Mavericks, etc on the smaller convenience stores.
    thanks for reading.

Here in San Antonio, TX. Some Valero gas stations have Redbox. Sucks that we don’t even have any 7-11’s here even thought 7-11 started here in Texas.

I live in Baltimore Maryland and so far I haven’t see Redbox in a 7-11 or Royal Farms. It would make things even more wonderful when that happens here. Mc Donalds and Walmart locations are great, but there is a 7-11 or Royal Farms on every other corner where I live and work.

I suppose I am lucky then. Here in Logan, Utah we don’t have Redbox at any 7-11’s yet, but we do have 4 at the two Mcdonalds, 1 at Walmart, 1 in each Smith’s Marketplace, 1 at the Maverick, 1 at Macey’s, and 1 at Lee’s Marketplace for a total of 10 within 5 minutes driving. There may be more that I just don’t know about yet. There are two 7-11’s within that distance so I am very happy with the availability and it just seems to be getting better.

Mcdonalds does get business this way, I end up eating there more because I’m already there.
Smiths, Albertsons and Walmart too, if I’m there, why not do some shopping?
So the codes are worth it if the stores are paying, or at least partially paying.

7-11 here doesn’t have them yet, neither do the 3 Mcdonalds in my town. Only Albertsons, and as of late Walgreens.

Well folks, have no fear. Redbox will be coming to a Walmart near you very soon. Redox and Walmart have teamed up to install Kiosks in their stores nationwide…that’s over 3,000 locations.
