there was a post in early april ( i believe originally from redbox, and reposted on insideredbox )… about a code that didn’t work right, or was released late or something like this, for one particular march wednesday, so it was said that there would be one extra code, on the first wednesday of april. :)

The code worked for me and it came up a zero total. However, when I looked up my banking statement just to make sure it came up $1.00. Still a great price but the code does not make it free.
i had the same problem with 2 different codes showing zero at the machine, but there was a1 dollar charge on my bank account. i called redbox and they refunded my money.
The charge is the of the$1.00 is for verifying the card that you are using, it will come off after a couple of days. So the rental is really free. I read that on the Redbox website and it also states that somewhere during the rental process.( fine print)

the $1.00 should be credited back to your account,it’s to makesure the card is valid..
So the 1 dollar charge is standard, but refunded if I use a code?
Probably should be no charge right away or temp charge. No charge ever comes up on my card. If the charge is permanent, then call for refund.
I always have a $1 charge in my “authorization holdings” for my account online but it comes off after a day or two. If it was a charge, it would be $1 plus whatever your tax on the dollar is (my price with tax is $1.07 if I was paying for it.)

Well, it looks like it’s a legit code. I didn’t want to waste a trip to the redbox. I was was worried it was an April fools joke, because the code looks strange and I thought the Wed codes were only in March. Thanks!

This may be a hint:

So maybe only the first week of April and then skip till May? One can only hope.

i wish there was a free code everyday! i have been using redbox for almost two years and never once had to pay for a movie rental. i stopped going to blockbuster and i wont go back unless the movies are also free.
i tried this code last wednesday and it did not work … rented anyway … would redbox refund … not a big deal but what is the point of a code if it won’t work?
