Lately you may have noticed a slow down of my news updates, even though there is news to report. This is because I have been so busy on some other projects, that I have been unable to post as often as I would like.
So, to remedy that problem, I am looking to hire a couple of people to write posts here on Inside Redbox. Read on for all the details…
UPDATE: I have emailed everyone who has commented and shown interest in this position. I am closing comments on this thread for now.
First off, this is not a full-time job. I am looking for people that I can pay for each post written, with the possibility of bonuses based on how much traffic their posts bring into the site. Most days will just require 1-2 posts, with the possibility of more on busy news days.
So, what I am looking for?
- Previous blogging experience would be nice, but is not required.
- Good writing skills are a must, but you don’t have to be a professional.
- Timeliness is very important, stories need to be published as soon as possible after news happens.
- You need to like writing, and be interested in the movie industry.
- The ability to have fun with it!
- BONUS: Simple graphic editing skills would be great. I would really like ALL posts to have an image.
If you have been reading Inside Redbox for awhile, you probably know exactly what I am looking for. While I am not looking for someone who is a clone of me, you at least understand the style and tone of the site. That will be a big plus.
If you are interested, leave a comment.

If you know someone else who is interested, have them leave a comment. Also, be sure to share this post on Facebook, Twitter, your own blog, etc…
If applicable, please make available examples of previous work. You don’t need to post them here, but please have them ready for when I contact you.

Thanks! I look forward to working with a few of you very soon.
Being the father of seven children, imagine the films that I have rented and watched..and the reviews that I have read in order to filter some movies that may be inappropriate for some age ranges.
Though I have tried in the past, I have not ever had any of my work published, so I have little to offer you in the way of professional samples. I do blog at CBS Sports under the screen name Koolkarma, and I am able to submit to you any number of over 500 articles that I have written on the community boards.
Thank you for your consideration.
I am very excited about this opportunity. I think watching movies, and writing blogs about them is right up my alley! I am very articulate with my writing, as it is a favorite past time of mine. As well as watching movies is my second runner up, . I have seen SO VERY many movies, we own 3,200 D.V.D.’s and I rent almost daily. I am a stay at home mother of 4 children, and we often watch movies. Especially if you count my husband, child at heart. I can be a great person to review them, and post both opinions as well as details. Or- just to update our fellow members about things going on here, I am the one for you! I look forward to hearing from you, take care!
I am an avid movie watcher, including movies of all genre from Hollywood to Bollywood to UK. I am a Business Analyst by profession, so writing and images are things I do every day. Mixing my passion of movies with my profession is a perfect match. I would welcome conversing with you further.
I’ve often told friends that I should work for Redbox since I’ve raved about it to everyone I meet since discovering it a few months ago. I am a writer by trade, freelancing for the past 4 years. I can write any type of post you wish. Looking forward to hearing from you!
As a former film/journalism major, who is now a social worker, (I know, what? lol), I have written about movies and learned to watch them ”without missing a thing.” as they say. The website referenced above is a project that I worked on a few years ago with a couple of other people from my hometown. They were the high-tech persons, I wrote the reviews for the restaurants and some of the stores.
Over the years, some of my reviews and descriptions have been taken down, but I was often praised by the staff for my writing skills. I would be very interested in learning more about this opportunity.
Thank you!
I can write, and people will read it.
You can post it, edit it, clean it up, and add graphoc’s til your blue in the face.
But, you will no longer have to do it ALL yourself.
Let’s talk, reach me at robertpfester@gmail.com to get a phone contact number.
I can offer 30 years in the newspapers business, but none as a writer, more to come if you contact me…
graphoc’s – Spell check your work before you post stuff its GRAPHICS and there is no ‘ neeeded, but i would read your work,
Stones and glass houses, Mr. Comma-at-the-end-of-a-sentence. “Neeed” I say more?
THAT WAS A GOOD ONE, HA,HA,HA, LOOK WHOS TALKING, YOU GOT HIM GOOD KENDRA!!!!!
I would very much like to write a blog about movies I have seen. It would add onto my learning experience because I am a stay at home Mom. With my other time I am a full time student at the UOP. Writing a blog about movies I have seen would been excellent. My classmates and teacher enjoy my questions and opinion in class. I look forward in hearing from you.
Well I guess I can tell you all sorts of stuff, to make me sound good. But bottom line is this I have a natural ability in telling stories & talking to people in such a way that keeps them interested & as far as movies go I enjoy being wrapped up for the 2-3hrs & I love the whole movie making process, my favorite part of a movie is not just the movie but a great opening that just grabs you & doesn’t let you go is just awesome!! I have a great attention for detail, but not a movie spoiler.. I’ve seen so many movies that all of my friends call & most will say remember that movie with that one girl, & they’ll tell me a scene & I can tell them what movie it was who was in it & so on, I think you get the point.. I enjoy writting, never as a professional though, all I’m asking is for a shot if you don’t like my style, that’s cool. Regardless what you have going here is a great service & I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Trina
I would love to write for you. It would be a great escape from my real job and this would give me something to do. I will come through in the clutch just give me the ball and I’ll make it.
Hey what’s up I’ve been using your site since redbox came out, I would love to write for your site, all I really do is watch movies or look online for trailers. I was recently laid off I haven’t wrote on that many blogs but am a fast learner plus I know a graffic designer who could help me and like I said before I’ve seen pretty much every movie out right now so please let me know what you think.Thank’s hope to hear from you soon.
I watch a lot of movies. My specialties are family films due to the ages of my children but my husband and I adore a good thriller after bed time. I do have some writing experience but not pertaining to reviews. I do research papers for child developement.
I am looking for something that I can enjoy doing and this seems to be a wonderful chance to mix things up. I can do basic things with a computer, catch on quick to what I don’t already know. I am free to dedicate as much time as needed to blogs.
I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you.
Colleen
I am certainly interested in doing this. I work from home so I have the time to write. I used to blog every day but I haven’t done it in a while. I have 2 young kids so I have experience with family and kids’ movies too. I prefer comedies, drama, thrillers, films based on a true story, and some action movies. I don’t watch horror movies and don’t watch a lot of romance but I would if necessary.
I have a lot of computer experience so pictures are no problem at all. I look forward to getting started.
I offer 15 years of professional writing experience with a public broadcasting group. Writing for PBS, NPR and classical music audiences requires a specialization in exemplary journalistic style as well as impeccable grammar. I served as editor of the printed publication for members. The job required writing enticing headlines and a knack for finding eye-catching photos with publication rights.
I also served as chief publicist for the public broadcasting group. I garnered many inches of “free ink” through press releases and think I could do that for Inside Redbox, plus use my promotional experience to encourage people to be more frequent visitors.
I own and operate a discussion board, LauncherXplanet.com. You can see the tone of my messages there. My user name is pamd, administrator. If you want, Michael, I can put you into a private area that regular members do not see.
I’m especially interested in the Redbox business model, plus the ongoing reactions of the major studios and Blockbuster.
Press releases, PDF files of the printed magazine, online movie and recipe reviews, and references are available.

Also film noir.
I like and use humor in my writing when it’s appropriate.
Redbox is terrific and I would love to fill some of my free moments writing or blogging about one of my favorite passions. I am a semi-retired special education teacher and currently work for a major airline. My background in writing includes lesson plans, curriculum, newsletters, brochures, as well as a works in progress childrens’ story book…you get the idea. I have a keen eye for proofreading and editing. My great sense of humor and love of writing would make me an excellent fit for your blog. I look forward to discussing this opportunity in further detail. Thank you for your consideration.
Hello, My names Melissa, I am currently a full-time student looking for something to do on the side. I go to Collins College for film and video graphics. I will be getting my Asst. Degree this Oct. I also have the programs to do graphics and editing on my laptop.
Please get back to me if you are interested and good luck in your search.
Thank You,
Melissa
I have been hooked on the incredible Redbox ever since the first kiosk came rolling into my hometown. Honestly, I had never seen something like it. I was out with a friend, and they asked me if I wanted to rent a movie. We were at cub foods, and it was 3 AM, and I thought it was a joke, so sarcastically I said “Yeah, let’s go look right now.” To my surprise, we walked to what I thought was a vending machine, but sure enough, low and behold, there it was, the glorious Redbox! They replaced vending machines with movies! Ever since I discovered Redbox, I said farewell to any other form of rental. You can’t beat a dollar, that is pure gold, and Redbox has proven that they aren’t out to get your money like the industry is. All these posts the past few weeks that I have read, just goes to show how committed to the customers Redbox really is. I found this site awhile back, and have enjoyed reading all of your posts, and I have always wanted to help contribute to a site like this. I found your April Fool’s joke to be hilarious, and actually tricked someone into believing that you can go watch full movies at the kiosk, one word, priceless! I really enjoy this site, and I have great skills with graphics and coding, I love to write and express myself, and I agree that all posts should have images included, thats what makes it more appealing for the readers, to see visuals, to make it a nice clean layout, with good humor mixed into each post. Whether its writing about movie industry news, or writing reviews on the latest movies, or posting the weekly movies, whatever it may be, I can help in any way. No matter who you may choose, or if you have chosen already, I just would like to see this grow more and more, and I know this could expand into much more, because Redbox is taking over, in these hard financial times, we need loyal to the customer type businesses around. Good luck with whoever you may choose, and thank you for reading this regardless, and I hope to hear from back from you.
I’d appreciate consideration. I don’t want to fill this comments section with my resume, but I believe I’d do well. Cheers.
I am an author with a book coming out early next year. I write every day on a variety of projects and am very savvy with graphic editing technology, and technology in general. I’m always reading and writing, and have a little experience in blogging, and have been using insideredbox.com since its early days.
I have just read all of the applications to the blog position you are offering. I like to read something that will keep my interest and stay on track. I have found 3 that have done just that, they are infrared, Trina Mendez and Corey. So if you would like some input to help you decide whom to pick, well, there you go.
please contact me about the writing positions. jasonpfaff23@yahoo.com
It cracks me up this is how an employee can be found! Technology is great! I’m a blogger, movie buff, avid reader, and a lover of life. I’d love an opportunity for a new experience such as this! Best of luck to all vying for this experience!

Hello,
I would love to write for Insideredbox.com! Writing is one of my passions and I am actually looking to get my foot in the door of the writing industry. This would be great experience. I also love to watch movies with my husband and have been renting them from redbox for a year now. Writing about anything related to redbox and movies sounds like tons of fun. Please contact me for my resume and qualifications at tbourget@mail.usf.edu. Thanks.
Inside Redbox Is Hiring
Michael, the owner of Inside Redbox announced yesterday on an Insideredboxbox.com news release that his time was being taken up with some other projects and he was looking for individuals to assist him in maintaining the information flow on his site.
Michael stated that the right individual would have marketing and creative skills and establish a new presence that would bring more traffic to the site. He is looking for someone with possible previous blogging experience, good writing skills and who can get their projects done in a timely manner.
While the job is not full time, the response so far has been overwhelming. Stay at home mothers with a library of over 3,200, a father of Seven children, Patrons of the site who frequent Redbox and utilize the codes and individuals with quite an impressive list of accomplishments including the design of their own sites have all emailed and blogged their desire to work with Michael.
The opportunity offers the chance to be part of something special and serve others. It is a chance to be creative and make things happen while providing information that will benefit those who use the service.
Sounds like the perfect opportunity for my own skills and abilities. I would bring marketing ideas and an exciting and real presence to the position. Bringing new traffic to the site would be on of my goals. A meeting between myself and Michael would foster this relationship and allow us to achieve the goals of Inside Redbox, Myself and Michael.
Looking forward to talking with you Michael.

Hiring? Money… for posting? This sounds interesting. Perhaps there will be far too many applicants… Bah! I’ll throw myself into this.
Reasons you should hire me:
1. My excellent singing voice. (Yes it matters, singing always matters. Always!)
2. I am poor and have no money. (Aside from what I find in the couch)
3. Excellent scrounging skills. (I pay for gas with the aforementioned couch money)
4. My total lack of blogging experience. (Not counting three blogs with one post each)
5. I really like graphics and art. (Yeah. Really I do. I totally do.)
6. Because I am what I choose to be. (Did you know that Vin Diesel voiced the Iron Giant.)
7. I composed the score to a short film once. (It was called dual wield. It was a Jones Soda fan commercial. We totally used some Hitchcock zooms in it.)
8. My obsession with insanity. (The Joker is “super-sane”, not insane. He sees the world more clearly than a regular person. P.S. Mark Hamill is the best Joker)
9. Um… Uh… There was this one time… Uh… I like… (That’s what FAIL sounds like)
10. I have the spare time. (Jobless… *echoes ominously*)
11. There is also the fact that I use Redbox ALL THE TIME. (I always put sunscreen down)
Hey Thomas, i am not Michael, so I can’t hire ya…but I gotta admit your post stood out… you sound like you would be a fun guy to hang with too :) …. I would have hired you if I needed someone to blog for me :)
Would like to be contacted about the part-time blogger position. I currently work part-time from home as a freelancer, assisting several businesses with their website updates.
Look forward in discussing further with you.

Hello! I am wondering…did you announce a blog-for-pay position just to see how gullible we all are? Hmm… If so, so what??? I know how to laugh at myself, definitely know how to laugh at others, and enjoy the emotional journey movies provide. I think that experience aside, I am the man..um, woman, you are looking for! I have a degree in English, therefore pretty much know the language, and read voraciously. I maintain an e-mail chain with four friends and keep ’em all in stitches with my stories/wit/humor. Last but far from least, I am very humble. NOT!!!
I am an avid blogger and cinephile, with years of copywriting and graphics experience. I love writing, movies and writing about movies.
I make my readers guffaw, chortle, chuckle and snicker at my command, and I’ve made women weep with my wordplay. In short, I’m a lyrical alchemist (and a hoot!)
Let’s chat about bringing my superb grasp of grammar and syntax, along with my encyclopedic knowledge of film, to Inside Redbox. As an added bonus, I’m a fellow Wasatch Fronter just down the street in PG.

I am the webmaster for a the technical site of a global organization. This site has essentially become a community of technical people interested in contributing their times and talents to our cause. I am 25 years old and have been doing this for over two years.
Out of respect for my current job, I will give you more experience and work samples via e-mail if you are interested.
I am the sole manager of the content on the site, so I have a lot of experience with the creation process, editing, publishing, and feedback.
I’d love to have the opportunity to do some freelance work for you and bring in a different flavor insideredbox.com.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Wow, it seems like everyone one wants in on this. I do too, by the way. Sounds like a fun easy past time and get pay doing that too. Count me in! I love renting from redbox because its so cheap for new releases and writing about them will be great! I can be contact at mbvang@wausau.k12.wi.us. I really don’t want to put in very personal info about myself because of technology today, but I love writing and writing about things I know is lots of fun and sharing it. Contact me if you would like me to blog for you. :)
I am throwing my hat or pen into the ring as well. While working in Tokyo, I was fascinated with the ability to buy anything out of a vending machine, at any time of day, in just about any location. Seriously, ramen at 2 a.m. becomes a necessity and the mini soda bottles were so cute. While I think it took Redbox too long to get here, I was jumping for popcorn when I saw the first box. Working in the Marketing/Communications field, I have experience writing, evaluating and of course, reading blogs and meeting deadlines – crucial.
Personally, I am looking to have some fun with it. Another way to embarrass my teens and watch more movies. I would like to offer up my sacrificial teens for occasional input as well. I think a little point/counterpoint would be almost as entertaining as “He Said, She Said”, maybe more so if you actually watched that whole movie. Let me know where I can send blog excerpts.
Hello, I’m definitely very interested in this opportunity. I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years now (see site above) and have a pretty solid following. I enjoy it immensely, and would love to take it in a slightly different direction.
JEN
I’m not much of a writer but if your interested in a visual effects artist, someone to help advertise the site through video editing, or pictures for the site or your blog posts, then contact me at yourevilmonkey@gmail.com.
ALL MOST OF THE PEOPLE ARE HERE ARE TAKING ABOUT EXTRA CASH WE ALL NEED THAT BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING ELSE BETTER COMES ALONG?WILL THEY STILL WRITE IN THE BLOG OR WHAT SNF THE JOB EXPERICE THAT DON’T MEAN ANYTHING IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO MAKE SOMETHING YOUR GOAL TO GET DONE WHEN YOU KNOW ITS GOT A DEAD LINE TO BE DONE.AND ANYONE CAN SAY ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY ABOUT SHAT THEY ARE WILLING TO DO.BUT CAN THEY.WHO KNOWS? ONLY THE PERSON WHO NEEDS THE HELP.YEAH I LIKE SOME EXTRA CASH ALSO AND WRITTING OR READING ISN’T A PROBLEM TO ME THANKS.
CAN YOU BACK UP WHAT YOU SAY AND DO WHAT YOU SAY
I’d say reading and writing sure looks like a pretty BIG PROBLEM for you! You can’t spell, you can’t structure proper sentences, you don’t know the first thing about punctuation and your sentences don’t make any sense. Who are you kidding, don’t even bother EVER trying to be a writer, there is NO WAY you could make it. Oh and by the way, when you type in all caps it is considered yelling, although surely you should know that!
Love movies and love to write! I
Interested in future writing opportunities. You can find me at: Creative and Curious Kids! http://raisingcreativeandcuriouskids.blogspot.com
I also have samples of writing that I’ve done for other sites, such as the parenting website: Parenting Pink.
Hope to hear from you!
