This year, driven by a massive increase in digital content and subscriptions–among other things–Cyber Monday saw the heaviest online spending in its history.

Sales of digital content and subscriptions, which include movies, music, books and games, rose 28 percent over 2011.

Consumer electronics and computer hardware also saw large growth spikes.

comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni obeserved the following about the busy online shopping day:

“Despite some news reports suggesting that Cyber Monday might be declining in importance, the day has once again set an online spending record . . . However, it is also clear that the holiday promotional period has begun even earlier this year, with strong online sales occurring on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Now, we shall see the extent to which continuing and attractive retailer promotions are able to boost sales for the remainder of the week.”

How much did you spend on Cyber Monday? Did some of that money go toward digital content like movies?

I’m assuming you book marked it yourself and wanted to ask if social book-marking gets you a lot of site visitors? I’ve been thinking about doing some social bookmarking for a few of my websites
but wasn’t sure if it would produce any positive results. Thank you so much.
