The most recent Black Friday shopping frenzy proved to be very lucrative for Hollywood, according to a new report from research firm Nielsen Home Entertainment.
Nielsen is reporting that Black Friday weekend shoppers purchased an average of four new DVD or Blu-ray titles, with 37 percent of total shoppers purchasing a movie disc of some sort. Interestingly, 69 percent of shoppers reported that at least some of their movie purchases were for themselves, rather than gifts.
Massive discounts on DVDs and Blu-rays drove prices of some titles down to as low as $1.99.
Did you pick up any BDs or DVDs this past Black Friday? If so, how many?
