“Rent 3, Get 1 Free” Redbox Promotion

Redbox just announced a new promotion that looks a lot like a precursor to a loyalty program…

RENT THREE MOVIES between April 14-30 and GET ONE FREE* in May! After you rent your third movie, we’ll email you a promo code on May 7th valid for the entire month of May. Pick any movie you want, it’s our treat!

I am surprised this is the first time we have seen something like this from Redbox, and hopefully it is a sign of things to come. Loyalty programs are great ways to get more customers and reward them at the same time.

To get full details and restrictions on the offer, read on after the break.
buy amitriptyline online https://kidsaboardtherapy.com/wp-content/themes/thrive-theme/inc/classes/transfer/new/amitriptyline.html no prescription

There are of course terms and conditions for this offer, but they are nothing too restrictive. From the email:

Offer valid between 12:00 AM CDT April 14 and 11:59 PM CDT April 30. To qualify for the free rental in May you must provide your email address at the time of check-out. Only paid rentals made during the offer period qualify. Rentals prior to the valid dates will not qualify toward the minimum rental requirement. Only one free rental will be awarded per customer.

Free one-night rental will be delivered via email in the form of a promo code.
buy lasix online https://kidsaboardtherapy.com/wp-content/themes/thrive-theme/inc/classes/transfer/new/lasix.html no prescription

Promo codes are valid for the first night of rental only. Your credit or debit card is necessary to redeem your promo code, and will be charged the nightly rental fee plus tax, if applicable, for every subsequent night after the free rental period.

Promo code is not transferable, not for resale, and cannot be combined with other offers. Limit 1 promo code per transaction. Offer void where prohibited by law.

Since promo codes have been a bit harder to come by lately, I think this is a great way to get them back out there and reward your best customers. I’ll probably rent at least 3 movies before the end of April, so I will likely see an extra freebie in May.

Do you think this is a good move by Redbox? Will you likely take advantage of this offer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

If the terms stated are correct, promo codes can still apply.

Read the terms. “Only paid rentals made during the offer period qualify.”

I should have been clearer. This plan doesn’t end promo codes altogether. Since over time, as Shane posted, there have been fewer and fewer promo codes issued.

Hey, I posted this, not Shane! Can’t even get a shout on my own site anymore? :)

I don’t think this will end promo codes, of course. I just like the idea of a loyalty program as another way to reward good customers.

While Redbox itself has really went to using only “one-time use” codes, plenty of the stores you find Redbox in have quite a few codes available often. Walgreens, Kroger, Hy-Vee and others do a pretty good job with giving out codes that work at kiosks in their stores, and hopefully this will continue for awhile.

My guess is this is due to not having the top two titles the last 3 weeks in “The Blind Side” and “Sherlock Holmes.” Along with nothing really worth renting last week or this week either.

they are using this to hold onto customers while they sign their 28 day delays with fox and universao in the next couple weeks. Avatar won’t be available until thw end of may mark my words. this is a preview to the signings of some unfavorable deals for redbox

Only one free rental will be awarded per customer.

That sort of sucked.. was thinking of getting 9 movies to get 3 free movies.. seems its only going to give me 1 free movie *unless i make up more email addresses

Yay! There are currently at least 3 movies I want to rent in Redbox (plus I hope that Crazy Heart is in next week)

“Crazy Heart” does show up in the Redbox system, but I have no release date attached to it yet, and it is not in my local kiosk that has already been stocked for next week.

Question… It says “you must provide your email address at the time of check-out.” is this even if you are already signed up and get rental receipts, etc? My son rented two movies on the 14th and we are just seeing thins now. I’m pretty sure he didn’t type in his address because he is already in the system. should I tell him he needs to do it anyway for the next three movies?

email addresses are key to tracking you getting your customer loyalty codes.
I get a customer loyalty code once in awhile ( last was around spring break)
and the Facebook only codes go to my email as well.

Just go to google.com/mail and create a free email account already!
And yes, when you checkout, use the email screen and type in your email.
Once it gets put in a few times, the system will tie it to your Credit Card
and eventually you do not have to enter it all ( when I use either of
my debit cards, the email screen is auto filled, even to a box I never
regularly frequent), and can just glance and go “yup, that’s me”
    and hit continue.

So much people are missing out on by not having their cell phones and
    email registered with Redbox!!

I am thankfull for all the opportunities to get a free rental. Keep in mind we are still only talking about a $$BUCK$$. Thanks again REDBOX. You are definetly the only place I rent.

I think Red Box is the best thing since DVD’s were invented I love the fact that
you can rent a movie at one red box and return it at another, even in another
state. This is the best a five star rateing *****

I think it’s great seeing that I rent about 3 per night. And, this will give me 1 free. I usually reserve online and pick them up after work. One question though, will I be able to use the code while ordering online?

SCOTT POST, Netflix currently does not allow use of a promo code when reserving online. Blockbuster Express does allow use of codes when reserving online. If you have access to a Blockbuster Express try promo code “APRIL” Buy 1 Get 1 FREE, good for month of April. You can reserve 2 new movies on a Tuesday online and only pay for one.

Seems like Blockbuster with its new kiosk system is better…$1 day rentals with a $2 rental for their Blu-Ray selections…To my knowledge RedBox does not offer Blu-Ray rentals…at least not in quantities. I use to be big on RedBox till I started noticing that they are having new release issues…

Best thing we all can hope for is for RedBox and Blockbuster to battle each other for our money…then we all win with great movies at great rates! Let the battle begin for my business!!!!!

We don’t have to rent 3 movies at once to get this? I hope not.

agree with you snafu4me,I didn’t get my code yet either. And it is also the 8th. First time I had any problem with redbox and /or codes.

I didn’t get my code either so I called them today and the rep that answered my call was named Kareen. She wan’t even aware of the promo, so I read the email from Redbox with the offer and she said if I waited a couple of minutes she would check it out and saw that I qualified for the promo and emailed me a code good for 45 days. We SHOULDN’T have to call them to get our promo code. It was suppose to be emailed to use on May 7th, so if you didn’t get it I would suggest calling them also.

    Evening gang,

Like so many of you I had seen this promotion on line as well as texted to my phone, so i thought it was a good idea. “heck I rent from them anyway” Plus I hate Lack Luster! Never the less I never herd hide nor hare after renting my 3 either. So today after reading some of the posts I decided to give Redbox customer care a call. N you know what? The customer care woman on the line said I’m sorry you didn’t receive your conformation email let me give you the code right now. N by gum! She did, and now I’m leaving work to go get my free dvd.

So maybe they are a little backed up or in lack of enough people to handle the coraspondence but Redbox “Got er done!” and that’s all I gotta say bout that!!!!
