We’re just a few days from the Oscars, and it’s time to make our predictions for the winners in Hollywood’s biggest night!
As I mentioned previously, I was a little disappointed that Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) and Ben Affleck (Argo), were shut out from the Best Director list. That being said, there are a few standouts in this year’s nominees who will surprise just about everyone if they don’t win, including Daniel Day-Lewis for his mesmerizing portrayal of Abraham Lincoln, and Anne Hathaway for her soul-rending performance as the doomed Fantine.
Below are my predictions for the winners in the major categories. The film/person that, in my opinion, WILL win will be in bold and the film/person that SHOULD win will be italicized.
Take a look at my predictions, and then head over to the comments section to agree, disagree, and leave your own picks.

Unlike in years past… Other than Anne Hathaway, Shane and I aren’t in lock-step in agreement this year.
“Zero Dark Thirty“ and “Argo” are good entries, but the fickle Academy members prefer period pieces across-the-board.

Not so good this year… only TWO of five :(.
Shane did much better FOUR of five!
Beasts of the Southern Wild was a terrible movie. When it was finally over I felt like I had been licking a dumpster behind a Chinese restaurant. The little girl was just a little girl….not an actress. That she was even nominated for an award was a joke. She screeched all her lines-many of which were indecipherable. She showed no range or emotion.
Many friends saw this movie for the same reason I did-becuase of the glowing reviews. There must have been lots of drugged out critics for this to get any praise.
The only one I disagree with is TLJones for Lincoln
I love to predict it, but Zero Dark Thirty is going to clean up the event
Best part about the telecast–Shirley Bassey singing!
