New Redbox \"Find A Movie\" screen adds more optionsFirst we saw the new interface updates on the Redbox kiosks, and now Redbox.com is getting in on the action as well…

This update is right in line with some of the recent changes to the kiosks, and incorporates most of the changes that many Inside Redbox community members have called for in recent days.

Some of the notable changes:

  • List of genres so you can quickly jump to the type of movie you want to see
  • More intuitive navigation with the buttons along the top and the bottom
  • And my favorite: The “See All” link which lets you see all of the movies on one screen!

So far the movie details screens are looking the same, so who knows if their are changes in the works there. One thing I would like to see on the detail screen is a field for “Release Date”.

Great work, Redbox. Thanks for listening!

What do you all think? Do you like the changes? What else would you like to see changed/added?

note: Right now Redbox.com is experiencing some difficulties with the movie detail screens. Hopefully they will get that worked out soon.

I would really love to see the rating on the first screen with the picture of the movie. I have 2 kids and spend time looking at descriptions just to see what the rating is. Also the date released is absolutely a great Idea, I was going to suggest that too. I would be nice to search alphabetically instead of the more movies or go back.

Another great feature would be to see your account. what you have already rented, or what is still out.

Thanks for listening red box! Way to go.

“See All” is my favorite as well, but all of these upgrades are welcome improvements!

My previous favorite was when they updated the look of results from Find a Movie. In the early days, the highlighting between “available” and “not” were too similar. I thought the feature was broken the first few times I tried it, but now the available locations really stand out nicely.

By the way, I’ve yet to see a kiosk with the update in Oklahoma City. Has anybody else been left out?
