UPDATE: Many have reported this code is now dead on Tuesday. Perhaps Redbox is throttling the code, or made it so it could only be used a certain number of times.
These codes are awesome. Rented Revolutionary Road, but it’s not a very good movie.

I got this code from doing a survey. It did not work at 2 McDonald’s. I called and they said it should be active today. They gave me a code rbthxu6, they took one letter out. It did not work. I am calling them back. You may be able to use that code.

Iam having trouble recieving free movies, I don’t find the page or where to insert the code. Can someone direct me how this process works?
You have to do it from the kiosk, you can’t use it online. The easiest way is at the very first screen there are the options to “Rent” or “Return”. At the bottom of that screen it says “Rent with a Promo Code.” Hit that, enter the code and then select your movie.
You can also choose the “Enter Promo Code” button which is located at the bottom of the “Checkout” screen (I think) if you already added one to your cart.
It is on the very front screen, very bottom left, smaller menu box that says use promo code, also at checkout opportunity, there is a small box below that says add promo code on that page too.
Did not work today at walmart. Bummed!
This morning I brought back the one I got free last night and tried the code again, but it did not work at Walgreen’s.
Usually the free codes are one per credit card. If you want to use the code again, you need to try a different credit card.
I tried it this morning at MacDonald’s and it didn’t work. Said already used.

Could someone who actually gotten the email verify the code was supposed to be good today too? And if so, please call and complain to see if they reactivate it.
Agree..If those who did the survey/got the code as good for June 22 AND June 23rd, Redbox would probably reactivate it for the rest of today.
I took the survey and it definitely said it was valid for June 22 AND 23. Maybe it got used too many times and Redbox cut it off…

June 23, 2009 – Code did not work at Springboro, OH – McD’s or Wash Twp, OH – Speedway. I read in one of the comments the code is RBTHXU6 NOT RBXTHXU6. I’ll try that one later when I get back out today.

If Redbox is throttling their codes, they are just like Blockbuster and Netflex.
So I know for the future… when Redbox puts out a “2” day code, what exactly does “throttling” a code mean? Are we saying Redbox “tells” patrons that a certain promo code is valid for say “2” days, but then “throttles” it between valid/ invalid as they see fit? Not complaining as a free code is swell to begin with–BUT seems like more of a bait and switch to then “throttle” a 2 day code to invalid on day 2….perhaps assuming everyone who goes on day 2 to use the code will end up paying to rent once they already made the trip to the kiosk…

We also tried at Albertson’s. Before picking a movie – on the first screen – tried again after picking a movie and it still didn’t work.

I just got back from trying this code at MCD and Walgreens in Houston–still not valid. How long is it going to take them to validate it–certainly been a couple of hours.
