Transformers: The Last Knight, the latest movie in the long-running series, hits theaters next week. Redbox has taken the unusual step of partnering with the film’s studio, Paramount Pictures, to market the new release. This partnership is the first time Redbox has made such a move.

Redbox is promoting the movie with posters across more than 40,000 of its kiosks around the country. In addition, when Redbox customers rent Transformers: Age of Extinction, which is the previous movie in the series, they’ll receive a $5 online credit to use toward the purchase of a ticket to the new film.

Paramount has been playing nice with Redbox these days, forgoing the previous 28-day delay between when movies became available for sale and arrived at Redbox kiosks. Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox, said the following about the deal at the time:

“This distribution agreement is a win for Redbox, Paramount and, most importantly, consumers,”

Are you going to be renting Transformers: Age of Extinction at Redbox to get a discounted ticket to the new movie, Insiders?
