Definitely ‘An Education’ for me,…’Autumn’ movie reviews seem to be okay, and maybe ‘Open Graves’–which I hope is better than ‘The Graves’ which I just watched and was very lame….

Warners released Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” this week.

Any chance redbox could get this title via “First-Sale Doctrine”?

Sparse release week? How about dismal!

At least there is basketball to watch on broadcast TV.

-“An Education” worthy of a promo code. Good “chick flick.”

-“Autumn” looks interesting. Dexter Fletcher can act. Posthumous release for David Carradine.

Sherlock Homes and Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel come out tomorrow
    3/30.

Redbox cannot compete with the local video store. Ninja Assassin came out
2 weeks ago and Open Graves a month ago. Who are they kidding?
They should say when they actually came out.

and where is Blind Side that came out last week?

Come on people.. The average rental at Redbox is not $1 it is over $2.50 because
most don’t get it returned the next day.

      Huh,

That has nothing to do with it. THE BLIND SIDE will not be in ANY Redbox machine until April 20th.

OMG!!! You’re an idiot! Seriously! If this is what you think, you’ve completely misunderstood what I believe Redbox intended to do. Everyone that I know including myself will wait a couple of extra weeks for a movie, rather than pay 5 dollars a movie at Blockbuster, or 9 dollars a person at the theater. Redbox is convenient for those who just want a 1 night rental for maybe company or something to do for the night, that wont break the bank in this economy. In most cases, unless it’s a child’s movie, most people have no problem watching a movie one night, and returning it the next day. Even if they keep it 1 extra day it’s still cheaper than 5 bucks. If you are constantly having to pay fees for having the movie an extra day, then it’s your own fault, and maybe you would be better off renting from a video store that gives you extra days. To each his own! In most cases I’m sure you’ll probably still be late returning those as well. It is slightly annoying to have to wait the extra couple of weeks sometimes, but it’s not gonna kill anyone to do so, and I’d personally rather wait than to blow all of my extra entertainment hard earned cash that I could be using for something else.

I guess I’m not average it only costs me a dollar. I rent it the night I’m going to watch and return it the next day.

    LOL the autumn movie

As the last autumn leaves slowly peel away from the trees, a mysterious airborne virus ravages the planet, and within a few hours billions die. Victims suffer horrific deaths as their internal organs liquefy, and whole towns expire within minutes. Soon cities become infested breeding grounds for the new apocalyptic virus. By the end of the first day there are only a handful of survivors.Rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for gory disturbing images and language throughout.

So 5 people have to bury Billions for free WTF !!!

sounds like a very poor made sci fi movie that even sci fi didnt want to touch… maybe next week with the free monday code

      redboxmovie [visitor]

you can always enter watch blindside in a search engine since you wont be getting out of your desk chair for a while cuz you are fat and lazy
and this dude below is not renting it at blockbuster for $2, so you can burn in hell with all your lies

I rented Blind Side today at my locally owned video store (NOT BLOCKBUSTER)
for $.99 and I can keep it for 2 days. RedBox is worthless.

Curtis – Chalk one up for $1 for 1 day. Can REDBOX match the $.99 for 2 days.

They also have many new releases for $.99 for 5 days.

      rb [visitor]

Huh, as soon as you get your ‘locally owned video store NOT BLOCKBUSTER’ to open around 40,000 more stores around the U.S. to match Redbox’s convenience of being ‘local’ to everyone, then it will be ‘worth it’ for all to rent dvds at that store for 99cents. Until then, your locally owned video store is worthless to all but you and a handful of local patrons. Certainly not worth bragging about :-)

I would have to call B.S on you’re .99 for 2 days claim,,,tell us where,, so I can get a reward for you renting pirated DVD’s

      stoplying [visitor]

you did not get the blind side for 99 cents for 2 days, but you can use it towards new pants cuz they be on fiya!!! you damn dirty liar

$.99 for 5 days. That’s less than $.20 a day. RedBox is overcharging.

video stores are hurting for cash….. one local video store that has been around i think for 20 years (delmar) used to charge like 3.99 for 1 night for new releases… They have dropped this price down to 1.99 for 1 night and thinking about even going lower…

If you rent ALOT and i mean ALOT and have a family video around you. They sell HALF PRICE RENTALS for 9.99 per month (meaning your going to have to spend 20 bucks just to break even)

They charge 3 bucks per night… per movie older movies 1.00 or 2 for 1.00

    RB,

Just saying. Sorry to rub your nose in it. I’m sure if you just had an open mind
and researched the many ways to rent, you would find other options.

    RB,

By handful of local patrons did you mean the hundreds of local patrons?

I have been a video retailer for over twenty years. Take my word for it; the days of renting a movie at your local video store are almost over.

TRUE! I was in the video rental/retail business too, and we couldn’t compete with large chains and video on demand. those days are a thing of the past.

Woo hoo, Ninja Assassian is out in Redbox! I thought we would be waiting until April for that one. I will be renting that and probably An Education.

That awful lookingcreated Alvin and the Chimpmunks movie comes out 2morrow and according to the poster on the side of Redbox machines, it will be in.

I saw Sherlock Holmes in theaters and enjoyed it. It’s worth a rent once it comes out in Redbox.

apparently it won’t be in Redbox. I’ve seen many people ask this on the official Redbox Facebook page and they sauid it will not be in Redbox. Why was it listed on this site then?

Is there even a hint of restraint of trade when certain product is withheld from Red Box?

I am so frustrated with redbox. Tried to rent this movie and redbox machine wouldn’t work . What was worse I couldn’t return the movie I rented yesterday. So I called redbox and talked with their “customer service person” Carrie Lee. I tried explaining the situation and she started back with I was talking to her like a child (which I wasn’t) then told me I was treating her like dirt at which I asked to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor brushed the whole afffair under the table and offered me promom codes. I have had nothing but problems with the machine I am using and instead of crediting my account I keep getting promo codes that you cant use if you try to reserve online.

I used to rent many movies from REDBOX. I have not used REDBOX in over a month. I also have a Netflix membership. Both are delaying selected titles. Because of the delay of some new releases I started going to Family Video. I was able to rent 6 new releases for around $8.00.(I paid 3 dollars once to get half price rentals for the month.) That is less than $1.50 a movie. I got Blindside, Sherlock Holmes and others that are not at REDBOX or hard to get from Netflix. I also got the “After Dark Horrfest 2010″(8 movies) which I did not know was out. I like being able to browse movies on the wall. The cost of movie tickets is so high that renting a movie for $1 or $4 dollars is still a good deal. I know the future will be downloading movies but for now I will enjoy renting the DVD.

Some are 5 day rentals. Some are 2 day rentals. DUH Not lying.

Keep going to your pathetic little Redbox and waiting a month for new releases.
