What a great week for releases! I saw The Boondock Saints II in theaters and loved it! It’s even better that the first, in my opinion! Even if you thought the 1st was just meh, check it out. I’ll be buying it!

This week I will rent Precious, Up in the Air, and Capitalism: A Love Story. Regardless of what you think of Michael Moore, his movies are entertaining!

Between the release of The Boondock Saints II and the 10th anniversary screening of The Boondock Saints on Thursday in movie theaters (and since it’s March), it’s a Saints week!

i jsut rented “where the wild things are” and it says rental on it. what is the difference between these rental dvds and the retail ones? are there stuff taken out of the rental version? how can you tell what ones will be rental only ones? would it be better to rent the movies that are like this some place else?

last week the only movie that was “redbox released” that had all the features was 2010 the rest had the crappy edited versions with gray labels and said rental in white at the bottom. thanks warner were waiting an extra 28 days for you to remove cool stuff and make a cheeezy label. woot. idiots. im sure there’s drm in place on these “retarded version” dvd’s that emails the riaa if u dare to watch it in your pc. furthgermore did anyone else notice the warner 28 day rental hold dvd’s are no longer on sale their release week at wal mart for 13 bucks? nope. where the wild things are was 20 bucks. and where redbox is the vampires assistant?

Only difference is the special features section is gone. I have seen quite a few of these, including ones that have been released at the normal time (not the 28 day delay). The movie itself is the same. I compared a few of them to someone I know who has purchased the same ones. No editing or low quality or anything. Just no special features and previews etc. There is no different kind of DRM either. I have never rented a DVD I can not copy onto my system. No kind of digital media will ever be copy proof.

Since a Blockbuster Express is now in my area, my family and I decided to test it out (Redbox is much better). We rented Where the Wild Things Are but it actually did have special features. Maybe the BB Express copies are not rental copies!

Did you get a bbexpress at a Sheetz in your area? When I contacted/emailed Sheetz headquarter to request a bbexpress be put at the Sheetz near where I live ( around 1 mile from my house) , they emailed back that they would have one in my Sheetz by April, and they were putting bbexpress in most/all Sheetz.

NCR is the driving force behind BB Express. They will continue to expand. Deal with it.

Yes they will expand into gas stations, 2nd rate convenience stores and low end drug chains. They will do less revenue per unit with higher costs per unit pushing payback way way out. Blockbuster.com won’t even mention express on their site. A losing combination for NCR owners. Deal with that.

I haven’t heard anything about it closing, and I think it’d be one of the last ones that they end up closing, as it’s surrounded by upper middle class communities filled with middle aged and old people that couldn’t use a Redbox machine to save their lives. Don’t believe me? Try watching one of them attempt to use one of the automated machines at the Giant Eagle down the street–it’s almost painful. Besides, most of the storefronts are occupied in that area, so it gets business.

Pittsburgh>Cleveland is the best name ever! Well, except for Pittsburgh>Philadelphia. You are right, it is painful to watch locals use a Redbox. I thought that the BB is Bethel Park was closing though

Unfortunately, the Norman Center Blockbuster in Bethel Park, PA has a large sign over the logo: “STORE CLOSING”.

It is just a matter of time for those in the Pittsburgh area to have only ONE remaining retail shop.

            So much for “Total Access”.

My local Sheetz just got theirs last week…..to bad they stuck it
outside…WTH??? Its not in the best of neighborhoods and not protected
from the weather. Just gonna stick with Redbox ; )

well after looking at it there is only play movie and language selection. they took the other stuff that comes with the movie. don’t think this is right taking stuff out of movies rented. i like the special features that comes with the movie. makes me not want to get from redbox anymore.

don’t know what movies you watch but special features are actually interesting on movies i seen. also like directors commentary. i also don’t like not get the second disc that comes with some movies. i know they could give both. if they cant’ put them both in one case then jsut make it give you 2 cases then.

i too would love to have disc 2 if there is one however i wouldnt wanna have to wait the extra 5 minutes to return it as it takes the redbox 4 ever to let me return more than one dvd

Exactly, the “special features” are usually worthless, and a waste of time. As for all of you complaining about special features, you’re almost always up in arms whenever someone even mentions the possibility of having to pay $2 instead of $1 for a great service, what makes you think you’re going to get that for $1? Can’t you just be happy with the movie?

Starman 15317, and others from Pa, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland who have Giant Eagles…Make sure to be checking the Redbox Codes that I’ve been listing for Giant Eagle only! March is a good month for Redbox new releases so hope you grab a few with these codes :-) The W.V. Giant Eagle code I only found out about yesterday but it did work for me in Pa. today and is reported to expire 3/18.
