Yea i was talking to a store manager today and was asking WTF was up with the price… They said it was something the stores were going to try to do to get people into the stores… They have no clue how long it will last …. Maybe its a spring break deal but I doubt they would do a massive mailing and only do the deal for a week..

Figure it out.. say i go into there today compair to tomorrow and rent 5 new release movies and 4 other people rent that same movie

each movie 3.00 per night x 5 nights = 15.00 per movie for 5 nights
new plan each movie 1.00 for 5 night 1.00 per movie for 5 nights

That is going to take a massive hit on their bottom line and how many people are going to get pissed off when they walk in friday and find out that all new movies were rented tuesday and there is nothing to rent then Spongbob : )

Heads up .. its a one month thing to get people into the stores…

promo runs APRIL 6 to May 5 2010…

went out and grabbed 14 movies for 7.00 (had a 50% off coupon as well) new release movies for 50 cents for 5 night is nice…

I did not get my code and I was told I was no longer a gold memeber. After checking it looks like you have to have a phone to get the code.

    Only five releases?
    No Monthly code?

Only one title looks worth renting: Werner Herzogs’

-Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

Might be worth a promo code as a Direct-2-redbox® release.

    -Dolan’s Cadillac

I’m not going to get to use either of the codes I received for my two phones. You’re free to use them if you can…

I didn’t get a code either. Anyways, nothing good is out tomorrow. I find it funny that the Bad Lieutenant sequel (it is a sequel, right?) is in Redbox just because the first one is rated NC-17. I know that the sequel is rated R so it’s allowed but still. Could you imagine if you were a teen and you wanted to see both movies but you were only allowed to see the 2nd one? That would suck.

    no code, why?

It’s part of the “Redbox” health care plan…..
    you thought it was “free”
    but everyone ends up
paying more in the long run
    once they suck you in…
(and you have to wait “longer” for new releases
in long lines, that is if you get to see the movie at all.)

    Whats that?

    You didn’t sign up for that plan;

    sorry,

    Socialism starts at the TOP!!!

I found out that the reason I didn’t get my code is because on my account on the Redbox site, you have to check mark the text message area. You do that by clicking “Your Account” then “Edit Notifications and Subscriptions”. Then checkmark “Monthly Movie Monday”. I feel cheated because I didn’t know this before. Thanks to the Redbox customer survice on their Facebook page for telling me this!

DVDONME code used to work once per credit card. It still does BUT
there is a time factor involved too. After, let’s say 3 months or 6 months, they eliminate that card number from their database with that code and you can use your credit cards all over again with DVDONME. Not sure about breakroom.

Got my free code on Monday, used it to rent “THe Collector 2: Braxton Returns”.
Not bad, worth what I paid to rent for.

This week, a new installment of Johnny Test! YES!
always something to rent, so even with the stupid 28 day wait,
Redbox still gets my money. :-)
