As of this posting, some additional [desirable] titles are available for October 5, 2010:

      “Face/Off”
      “Collateral”
“Minority Report” [N.B.only in the BD format!]

      Looks like redbox withdrawal™ won’t start until October 12, 2010. ;).

Are you joking??? These titles are again all from Paramount who must have some agreement to put these into Redbox. They did this a month ago with titles such as “Deep Impact” and “General’s Daughter.”

As a Redbox customer I have to say I’m not real happy with this. I would rather have more copies of “The Karate Kid” or some newer titles than this.

FYI, Redbox didn’t classify these as R.R. (Redbox Replays). Reason?

          @Consumer

          “Face/Off”
          “Collateral”
“Minority Report” [N.B.only in the BD format!]

are all good movies, as are both “The Karate Kid” versions.

I would rather see decent back catalog titles than the usual direct-2-redbox™ dreck that constitutes the bulk of the kiosk contents. All three Paramount titles have directors’ commentaries, so even if you saw the films before, the DVDs offer some added value.

Paramount is among the better managed studios, recognizing that redbox, and its ever growing installed kiosk base, is an *ally* not a foe. Incidentally, redbox has all three of *Columbia Studio’s* “The Karate Kid” titles currently available. So its not a stretch to think Columbia’s wising up to the benefits of redbox as a distribution channel– especially for back catalog.

-Redbox didn’t classify these as R.R. (Redbox Replays). Reason?

Don’t take the classifications too seriously, many times redbox misses the mark on titles for either: redbox Replays or any other label category–drama, action, comedy etc..

Karate kid is a good kids film. Not the best acted movie, but for kids its great.

    Macgruber will be funny probably.

30 Days of night was good, so I’m thinking the sequel will be ok.

I didn’t get my code either. Just this update letter. I get a code 1st Monday of every month. What’s going on?

FYI, MacGruber was awful. I was disappointed, as I really enjoyed the SNL skit.
