Looks like a good selection this week: Something for everyone!

    For horror fans:

    -The Crazies

    -The Wolfman

Asian action fans, like myself, who don’t mind foreign dialog and sub-titles:

    -The Warlords

‘The Crazies’ for me….Thought maybe The Wolfman but doesn’t get very good reviews so I’ll just wait for Shemp to watch/review to make my decision :-)

I am not even going to rent “The Wolfman” but here’s the review anyway: ;)

From “The Wolf Man” (1941) Maria Ouspenskaya playing Maleva:

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright”.

Disappointing remake. Choose the empty redbox case over this title.

Worth a promo code only to see the difference between the theatrical release and the included uncut version.

One star because I like “Benny the Bull” and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
      :o)

Was daydreaming yesterday and didn’t notice The White Ribbon being released today…Just went to check on availability of The Crazies at local kiosks and noticed The White Ribbon available…This won best foreign film so definitely want to see this movie also!

“The White Ribbon” is an important work; but difficult to call entertainment.

It’s on my Netflix queue, so I’ll post a review for Insiders after I watch it: And yes, I will *really* watch it!

I agree with your first sentence. In terms of cinematography, it’s one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. But I think most people would find it to be a pretty frustrating experience – the director is more interested in observing the characters and the various social structures of the time than he is in presenting a traditional narrative (or in resolving the central mystery of the film.) It’s an intriguing film, and incredibly well-made – I’m glad I saw it, and it left me a lot to think about – but I can imagine a lot of people hating it for its slow pacing and seeming lack of plot.

Also, for the record – while “The White Ribbon” won Best Foreign Film at the Golden Globes, “The Secret in Their Eyes” won in the same category at the Academy Awards. I personally preferred the former to the latter, but the latter is definitely the more accessible film and more likely to entertain. It should be out on DVD within the next few months.

I was at a kiosk on Saturday and I didn’t see hot tub time machine or “Percy Jackson” in the machines in the “coming soon” section. And they don’t even list “Percy Jackson” as coming soon on their site so I don’t know what you’re talking about! They also didn’t list “hot tub time machine” as coming tomorrow in their email of new releases I got this morning, just at the bottom of the email as coming in “June”, no actual date! And they didn’t have the “green zone” in the machine either and it was supposed to be out last week. I called and asked them about the “green zone” last Tuesday and they said it was delayed one week because it was a “universal” movie but it still wasn’t in the “coming soon” section of the kiosk on Saturday!

was like pulling teeth to get a copy of the crazies seems like all the kiosks only had one copy, every time i went to reserve online it was gone before i could hit the continue button :(

“The Wolfman” was a dog. Not worth the free code I had from the Blue box. So if you have this and another movie to choose from, choose the other movie.

Redbox did have “The Crazies” this morning.

I plan on renting The Wolfman and The Crazies. Belive it or not, I haven’t seen the original The Crazies so I will have to do that first. I plan on renting Hot Tub Time Machine when it’s released in Redbox (unless I see it at the cheap theater)

I was really ticked off when I found out that I couldn’t rent Percy Jackson, yet I could buy it. What the heck? I drove to 2 different towns trying to find it at a redbox. I checked 5 redboxes. Why do we have to wait a whole month practically to get this? It makes no sense to me unless you guys don’t want people to rent it from you guys and go ahead and buy it. Or go somewhere else. I’ve read the whole series and the first two chapters of the new Percy Jackson book due out October 12th. Go to Borders to read the 2 chapters by the way. My entire family loves this series. We’ve all read the entire series. I read them to my six year old at night. He loves tham. That’s right I am 37 and I love these books and The Red Pyramid, and The 39 Clues. I’m also a Harry Potter, and Septimus Heap Magyk series fan. It’s full of wizard stuff and I love it. It really compares to Harry Potter. Ok I guess I am done venting. Please get Percy Jackson soon or I may just buy it!!!

Have you ever heard of the internet? You could have saved yourself a lot of driving time, not to mention gas money if you would have checked “their” website. Which brings me to my next point, Can’t you read? This site is NOT affiliated with Redbox! I mean it says it at the top of the page and right below where you wrote your comment! When will people learn that this site is not Redbox? I mean it just takes a little paying attention, and I mean, just a little! You would think being 37 years old you’d be a little brighter!

The Lightning Theif will be in Redbox next month because of the 28 day delay. I have a question: not to sound rude, but if you and your family love the series so much why didn’t you see it in theaters?
