    December 1, 2009’s releases might be a new bottom.

    -Paper Heart
    might be the best of the lot.

    -Terminator Salvation
    might be worth a promo code just out of curiosity to see if all the bad reviews were accurate.

    -Penelope
    -Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian
    -Sid the Science Kid: Feeling Good Inside & Out
    might be good pacifiers for kids or a cure for insomnia for adults.

      -2 Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay
      This documentary might also be worth a promo code.

        @ 11:19 GMT December 1, 2009…

        Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian
        Terminator Salvation

        are universally listed as “checked out” after a comprehensive location search.

    Will Terminator be available on Tuesday or should we expect a delay?

    looks like a delay i assume since i’ve checked out many redbox’s in my area and night at the museum and Terminator are no shows. This truly sucks so much.

      Pssst…. you’re still on “holiday time” — this is only Monday! : )

      I have to say I am truly disappointed in Rebox’s service these past few weeks. I could hire 10 year-old children to run a more competent business…looks like an opportunity, better jump on it!!!

        yeah it’s not really their fault….ya see, production companies hate redbox. every tuesday people are faced with a tough decision. “should i buy this dvd for $20….or should i borrow it for a dollar?” more and more often, redbox isn’t able to strike up a deal with a studio, and thus is unable to release movies on their release date. it takes them a few days to literally order a couple from dvd warehouse, or run to a few wal marts or best buy, or procure them through other means.

    Hopefully this isn’t a repost. I got a server not found on the original post. This is in reference to the email update. I would be really helpful if the links to new released actually went to a site that has information on the movie. I tried Terminator, it went to yahoo (good). Most of the other links went to redbox and they have no information for the move. Maybe the links could point to the official sites for the movies.

      You talking about End Game with Kurt Angle? Didn’t have Night at Museum Smithsonian at my Redboxs so got the new release Deadline. There was a preview of End Game on the dvd Deadline. That said, the movie Deadline was rather boring, stupid, predictable. :-(

    Anyone want to bet that the SPNSV9 promo code works up until Terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian are available in the vending machines?

    • Visitor [Join Now]
      slidecage [visitor]

      Doubtful cause it has a end date of DEC 2 on another site NOV 27 to DEC 2 only.

      Worse week ever at redbox.. they must of only stock 1 copy of each movie in the machines… Lucky i drove my cousins car to get the movies.. I spend more money in gas then i would renting them at the local store (but since i used my cousins car i didnt have to pay for gas heh heh)

      rented the inferno movie and deadline everything else was gone and had a hell of a time finding these

        Why not check online before wasting time and gas to see if the movies you want are even available.
        Terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum 2 will be available later this week.

    I just checked 4 of the RedBox’s in my area and as of Dec. 1st-8:00AM PST;
    no Terminator or Night At the Museums have been loaded,
    so just out of curiosity I drove down to see if there was
    an online glitch; NOPE, not there!
    I hope they load them today.

    Huh? I thought Penelope came out on DVD several years ago;
    at least I have it listed as “watched” on my DVD list;
    is this Penelope 2 or something?
    Confused.

    just checked out the redbox’s near me and it appears terminator & Night At the Museum are showing up now so looks like there getting stocked, crazy how there doing this.

    I still have a complaint about Redbox’s new format that says “rent” or “checked out” when you’re looking up if a movie is available or not at any of your local kiosks. Been checking my local kiosks on the internet all day and how can “Night at The Museum 2” be listed as “checked out” at ALL the kiosks when it was never “checked in” or made available at those kiosks–and probably won’t be “checked in” or made available until later this week!!! I see a potential lawsuit for Redbox over another “wording” issue–like ‘late’ fees vs ‘rental’ fees wording lawsuit!

      if this keeps up i can see redbox losing a lot of customers back to video stores…I noticed a sign at one video store stating

      Get your movies here NO WAITING like redbox

      sort of made me laugh (i picked up the new termator movie there) last weeks 2 movies (funny people and 4 xmases…) i only saw them in a machine one day and never been able to get my hands on them ever again…. i think they only put like 1 copy per machine so good luck getting your hands on them

      next week movies that will probally not be in redbox

      Harry potter
      carriers
      worlds greatest dad

      WOW there is nothing coming next week it seems good

      week of 15th
      hangover (what they might carry)
      G force (what they probally wont)

      i see redbox losing a lot of customers

    Haven’t found any of the 2 new titles in Northern Illinois yet. I agree, if they are not going to make them available on the day they say they are going to, then they should have something on their site that tells you that, not just “checked out”.

      Still nothing as of 1030am weds

      for people waiting for the movies rent Raging Inferno … it was a good movie

        rb [visitor]

        Was it you who said Raging Inferno is not spoken in English but that it’s spoken in German with English subtitles? Is that for the whole movie?

        • Visitor [Join Now]
          slidecage [visitor]

          no the movie is Dubbed (very badly i may ad) its spoken in english but you can tell the voices do not line up to the people playing the parts…

    So I talked with a Redbox stocker and he told me they only gave him a dozen copies of each (terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum 2) to stock in his redbox units in our area so he picked the least traffic ones to stock them to bring in more customers. This morning when I returned both i checked to see if they would show up on the screen as available and they didn’t so i’m not sure within a couple of minutes they were rented online or like i’ve seen before the redbox holds them back and not sure why it does this.

    • Visitor [Join Now]
      slidecage [visitor]

      i find this interesting… they pulled funny people and 4xmases out of the boxes around here//// not even showing up as being rented out anymore…

      simple point.. for all of the movies are not there at midnight tuesday morning… If you ever see them in your box grab them asap cause it will probally beone of the the few times you have a chance to rent them via redbox

      2 Commentaries
      Behind the scenes
      Deleted Scenes
      Gag Reel
      Phinding Pharaoh
      The Jonas brothers in Cherub Bootcamp (SWEET!!!! yeah right)
      Trailers

      Also picked up Terminator (in FULL SCREEN!!) What the hell? Says widescreen on the site. Did not know they even made full screen DVDs anymore. Anyone get a widescreen one?

        Everyone bitches about waiting a few days for some titles, but noone appreciates that what Redbox does then provide on those titles is better than what you can rent elsewhere. When Redbox has to buy a DVD at Walmart it gets the full retail version, with extras, not the stripped down rental version on a gray DVD.

        I like extras, it’s worth waiting a few days.

    Whats the Big Deal in waiting 30 to 45 days for a new release…take a vacation, spend more time with the family/friends, whatever. I would wait 6 months and rent for $1 rather than spend $20+ and collect junk.

  24. Member [Join Now]
    c246frank

    its not the whole big deal except for the face redbox offers a service and in the retail industry if you offer a service honor it or do something about it. We are customers to redbox and for them to be all backwards about offering movies they advertise is so wrong. Other dvd rental boxes don’t play around like redbox does, so redbox needs to stand up to these greedy studios and tell them were not taking your crap no longer.

    Just see this e-mail. Looks like the big change finally come.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    As a loyal redbox customer, we want to make sure you know about an upcoming change to our Monthly Movie Monday program. Beginning Monday, December 7, the Monthly Movie Monday promo code will be distributed exclusively via text message to customers signed up to the redbox SMS Network.

    All codes will be unique and can only be redeemed once. If you get your code from a friend, online or in an email, the code may NOT work. The only way to guarantee your code is valid is to join the SMS Network at redbox.com.

      “Beginning Monday, December 7”?!?

      This isn’t new, they did this in November. But they also had a multiple-use code released on twitter the same day, so maybe this email just means they are actually serious this time.

    Thanks rb; CODE: GANTS9
    it pays to read the comments;
    because the code is not showing up on the “recent redbox code
    section”;
    I had to do a search for it!!!

      According to a post at slickdeals, this code is given out by Giant Food Stores in PA, and is good until 12/12. (Which doesn’t mean Redbox won’t cancel it early or restrict it if it gets lots of use elsewhere).

    Looks like I’m going to have to get Terminator and Night At The Museum at Redbox using someone elses card since it still won’t take mine for some stupid reason or go to Blockbuster. Netflix has been skipping out on sending me the new release even though I’ve had the movies coming out till the end of the year set up since like early October.

  29. Member [Join Now]
    UBM [ubm]

    @Netflix: They always did that to me, never sending me new releases, it’s why I dropped their lousy service. That and the many, many broken discs they sent me
    in the mail, it just wasn’t worth it.

    Terminator Salvation showed up today at Sam’s Club and some Wal-Mart SuperCenters in OKC, OK today! WOOT!! and the redbox code I posted
    earlier in the week in the forums worked as well! Double WOOT!!

    December looks like it’s going to be a good month for releases: Julie&Julia; The Hangover; Inglorious Bastards; District 9;Public Enemies; Harry Potter….. It might take awhile for Redbox to get them, but worth the wait for $1!

    • Member [Join Now]
      starman15317

      Inglourious Basterds is a great movie! I love Tarantino’s films! I’m not gonna rent it in Redbox, though, I’m gonna buy it! Redbox users are lucky because that movie was released by The Weinstein Company (whose DVDs can only be rented at Blockbuster) but they are going through finantial trouble, so Universal (who co released it) will release the DVD. Sure, you will have to wait for it, but that’s better than going to blockbuster for it. Halloween II (which was released by TWC) will be released by Sony Pictures, so expect that o be in redbox when it comes out next month. Geez i really went on and on here!
