Redbox is just a day away from reporting its first quarter financials, and things may look more positive than in recent quarters. A stronger lineup of new release movies may give the embattled renter a boost, according to a prominent analyst.
B. Riley & Co. analyst Eric Wold feels that Redbox will see a stronger first and second quarter this year because of the many box office hits from late last year that have hit the streets as DVDs and Blu-rays. Said Wold:
“We believe the strongest rental slate in three quarters would not only stabilize rental revenue, but also drive stronger margins on the flow-through,”
If Wold is right, Redbox can recover nicely from its rough fourth quarter from last year, when it saw its operating income drop by 50 percent Do you think Wold’s predictions will come true?

RedBox is still going down hill. The stock is… (SELL). Idiot wood still has not come out with much to watch. A few. But 95% are still trash. Are some remake B.S deal. That smell’s.
But RedBox is still here with us. And bleeding money. How?
The only thing I ask is. How much more can they bleed money and still not sink.
And you must keep in mind. They are looking for a way to get back online. And maybe team up with someone?
All this can come into play anytime.
They have closed all kinds of Box’s. Moved to a smaller office. Let go all kinds of people. Did a big down size. What is next?
Going online again is a must for them.. And having things that others don’t have. Big order… But I bet they could do it. time will tell.

What are they talking about “strong line-up on new releases” ? It’s a crap line up as far as I see three months ahead. There may be 4 movies worth seeing now thru July. If you go to Redbox “movies” and click on “coming soon” it’s just one ‘never heard of it’ after another”.
