Redbox Expanding Kiosks at Circle K

Convenience stores like Circle K, 7-Eleven and others are truly becoming more convenient with Redbox.

Redbox has just announced additional expansion into Circle K stores throughout the country. They were already in a limited number of locations in Arizona, California and Ohio, but this new agreement will expand that to many other stores.

Where else would you like to see Redbox kiosks?

I have heard a lot of people say airports would be a great place.

Airports? I just don’t get that. Am I supposed to be watching in the terminal? On the plane? At grandma’s house? Or do I have so little to do after a trip that I’m planning on flopping down on my couch and watching a movie instead of unpacking, washing clothes, reading mail, eating dinner, paying bills, mowing the yard….

How about rent it before you get on the plane, watch on the plane, and then return it when you land?

I think thats a great idea.

I have 3 Walgreens and 3 McDonalds within 2 miles of where I live and NONE of them have Redbox kiosks. I’d like to see Redbox kiosks at these locations both for the convenience and for the location-specific promo codes associated with these 2 businesses!

They have a redbox at the Indianapolis Airport. I just saw it last weekend. I think they would be great in airports! That way, you can rent one, watch it on your flight, or if you have a long layover, and then return it at the redbox at the next airport.

It works only if there’s a Redbox kiosk at the airport!! You could be stuck with that DVD until you return to the airport that you rented it from. Not all McDonalds have Redboxes

How about in hotel lobbies? There were some that had VHS machines years ago. Seems like RedBox would do good there. At $1 a movie I’d rent 4-5 on a 2-3 day stay with going on a business trip with hubs. Something to do while he is in meetings. It would compete with the $9.95 pay-per-view movies that the hotels offer (that I do NOT get) but there would be a greater variety of choices!

how about NYC – there are only two in Manhattan – it seems like redbox would clean up in Manhattan because there are so many people within a few blocks – the blockbuster on 86th and 1st avenue closed down as did many others – 86th and Lexington Avenue would be an excellent spot because it is a main subway hub to the upper east side – also there is a Walgreens right there

At the airport would be nice, to watch while waiting hours for the flight to start, or during a longer flight (2-4 hours), but I’d want to check Redbox’s website for locations in my destination city to be sure I could return the DVD first, or it might become an expensive rental very quickly.

Isaac I totally agree. I’d rather wait in line in my car than out in the “elements.” (:
    Great idea!

I would really like to see Redbox kiosks at every gas station. (Conoco, BP, Caseys, etc) The major problem with just a few kiosks is that I’ve rented/watched all of the films in the kiosk! I wait each week for new releases and then someone has already beaten me to the movie or reserved it online. It becomes pointless to use promo codes if you’ve watched all of the movies…. here inlies the problem. Comments?
