Coinstar owns 100% of Redbox. Coinstar is a publicly traded company. Stock symbol: CSTR. You can buy Coinstar stock. That is the only way that someone can have anything financially vested in Redbox, by buying Coinstar stock, which any one can do.

If by franchise partner you mean that they will put one on your businesses property if you own a busy store, then yes. If, you mean that they will sell, lease, rent you a machine as an “franchise owner” or in any way let you in on the profit, then no it wont happen.

BTW coinstar owns 41% of redbox. You can’t get a piece of that rock either.

well i guess my days of getting free movies is over i had gotten 100’s of movies for free buy signing up bogus emails and they would send me free codes oh well it was great while it lasted sometimes up to 10 free codes a week !

For those of you that want a larger selection of DVDs the Blockbuster in Houston located on FM 1960 at Champions is renting older DVDs for $1.00/day and new releases and blue ray DVDs for $2.00/day. I guess they are trying to compete with redbox!

Holy Christ have you been lied to. A store contacts Redbox and inquires about getting a machine added. Redbox crunches the store’s numbers and deems if it is feasible. No fees are exchanged. Redbox determines if there is enough traffic at said store to warrant a kiosk. The store benefits by increased customer traffic (most stores would prefer to have the machines located indoors). THERE ARE NO FRANCHISE PARTNERS!!! EACH AND EVERY REDBOX MACHINE EVERYWHERE IS 100% OWNED BY COINSTAR!!!! The stores have 0% ownership or income invested in the kiosk on their property. It is basic business. The store will allow Redbox to install a machine IN THE HOPES that the increased foot traffic to the machine will spill over to increased foot traffic in the store.

I see lots of questions about franchising Redbox, but no answers. Does anyone know if they offer franchises? Not all Redboxes are in McDonalds.

To everyone who keeps asking about franchising: GET A CLUE!!!! REDBOX DOES NOT FRANCHISE!!! I doubt that you people have “searched the internet”. If you really did, you would have discovered that Redbox is owned 100% by Coinstar. REDBOX DOES NOT FRANCHISE!!!! These aren’t gumball machines that you drive around re-filling. Every machine that you see is 100% owned by Coinstar. Every worker that you see at the machines is a Redbox employee, they are not “their own boss” with a franchise route to oversee.

You shouldn’t even consider being a franchisee of a product/company that you obviously know zero about.
