Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.

Spider-Man and Oliver Stone go head-to head at the box office this weekend, but only one can conquer. Previews and trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man and Savages are after the jump.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Ten years after Sam Raimi launched the Toby Maguire-led Spider-Man franchise and a scant five years since the last installment, the web-slinging superhero is back on the big screen. With The Social Network‘s Andrew Garfield donning the spider mask and Emma Stone stepping in as his love interest, this should be an interesting ride. Interesting, yes. Necessary? Moviegoers will decide that this weekend… Rated PG-13

Savages

The controversial but always entertaining director Oliver Stone returns with his latest tale. With a talented cast featuring Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, John Travolta and Blake Lively, Savages looks like a gritty but fascinating tale of drugs, love, and how far people will go to hang on to both. Rated R.

What do you think, Insiders? Are either of this week’s wide releases calling you to the multiplex?
