Welcome to another edition of Inside Redbox’s Preview Review, where we recap the movies that will be coming out in theaters this weekend. The goal of this feature is to help you make your weekend movie-watching plans, as well as to note movies that you want to Redbox in a few months when they come out on DVD.

Three new wide releases are fighting for the title of box office champ this weekend. The previews and trailers for Monsters University, World War Z and The Bling Ring are after the break.

Monsters University

Mike and Sully from Pixar’s hit Monsters Inc. are going through their college days in this prequel. We’ll learn how their rivalry initially turns into a deep and lasting friendship. Rated G.

World War Z

The bestselling book gets converted from a clinical, slow look back at a future zombie outbreak to a fast-paced monster movie. Fans of the book may howl in dismay, but general moviegoers may not care about the departure from the source material. Rated PG-13.

The Bling Ring

Sofia Coppola directs a true cautionary tale about the dangers of excessive consumption through a group of teenage girls who turn to crime to satisfy their materialism. Rated R.
