Inside Redbox is the #1 "Unofficial" Redbox Online Community for Redbox Codes, News and more. Inside Redbox is not affiliated with Redbox Automated Retail, LLC.

After a short hiatus (again – sorry), I am back with the Redbox Update. Things have been crazy for me the past few months. Hopefully by the end of October everything will return to normal. Anyway, enough with my boring life…

ONLINE RENTALS NOW AVAILABLE

The new Redbox website was launched last week, but was running very slow. I didn’t want to send you all over there if it wasn’t going to work for you, so I decided to wait until it was running well. It is running great now, and you should definitely check it out.

Just visit the main Redbox site (there is a link above under the picture of the Redbox) or goto www.redbox.com.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

This week’s question is related to the new online rental. Now that it is here, I want to know what you think of it, what you like about it, and what could be improved. So…

Question: How do you like the new Redbox online rental system? What could be improved?

As always, please respond by commenting on the blog.

Click here and scroll to the bottom to answer this weeks question.

NEW RELEASES

There are quite a few new releases since our last update, and your homework is to find out what they are by using the new Redbox online system. (Go to the Redbox website with the link above and click “Rent Online”). When you are done, don’t forget to come back here and leave comment for the question of the week.

Some notable releases are Curious George, X-Men 3, and Lake House.

Seen it? Love it? Hate it? Tell us about these movies on the Movie Forum.

REDBOX CODES

There have been some new codes posted over the past few weeks, so get your fix of free movies. One of the new codes is: TREAT

Click here to see all of the Redbox Codes

That does it for this week. I look forward to hearing what you think about the new online rental system.

Have a great week!

I like the idea of renting online. I’ve used it twice so far. It got a little tiring waiting in line only to find that the movie you stopped for was out of stock. So, thanks to Redbox for saving me lots of time.

I thought about using the online service, however, I was unsure if you can use promo codes through the website.

    Ken,

It is true that you cannot currently use promo codes with the online rental service. I don’t know if this is temporary or permanent, only time will tell.

In any case, I think we all should use the new system, pay our $1, and show our support for Redbox. They are a truly innovative company that has the potential to change the rental market in the country.

So, pass the buck ($1 that is) to Redbox and rent a movie online today!

Well, it would be nice if it were available to use here in Houston, but it curretnly states that none of the locations are available for online rentals.

It’s a great idea but I can’t use it yet. Their website says all of the boxes within 5 miles of me are temporarily unavailable.

I was going to use it one day until i realized i couldn’t use codes… I probably won’t be using it because of this. I guess i could still use it to check what is in stock and hope it is still there by the time i get there.

I have used the Redbox online rental several times and it is awsome. I like not having to wait in line and getting the movie I want when I want it, and hey its just a dollar better than $3 I would spend at a traditional store. Now if we could just figure out a way for them to deliver them with the pizza, hmmmmm…

While the Promo Codes are what this site is all about, we should all remember that Redbox is a company out for profit. If we want Redbox to be successful and continue to be around, we should spread the use of the free codes a little, and occassionally pay our dues.

I checked it out last week and had to exit because it took so long to move from page to page. Decided to try it tonight and rented two movies for pick-up. It was a piece of cake. One thing I think that would be great is email alerts when a movie that you want is turned in. Tonight, all of the G and PG movies (for my kids) are out of stock for a 5-mile radius. It would be great to not have to keep going back and checking for these movies. I don’t want to make two trips out to pick up movies.

I really enjoy Redbox and use it often. The only problem I have with Redbox is many times I just want to return a movie but have to stand in line while 3 or 4 people ahead of me are trying to figure which movie they want to rent. It would be nice to have a seperate place to just return.

I hate it because I’m a “drop-in while I’m out” kind of girl. Since the online rental started they never have anything available for people like me to rent.

Netflix is better. A dollar a day becomes too much after a while. I would rather pay one fee a month and have them sent to my house than have to go and pick them up and return them.

If it does work out, then cool, but I don’t think I will ever use it.

well, netflix is another thing. it has a variety of movies including older ones.

for redbox, it’s all about new releases; plus you KNOW you will get your movie when it is out on Tuesday for pickup after work/school with online rental.

Jayne, I think Redbox has just recently addressed your concern by reserving last copy of a title for “walk-in only”. I think online renting is pretty cool and I’ve used it a few times to prevent holding up the line while making a selection…

I would like to know what happens when you get a movie that is damaged beyond watching, as that is what just happened to me. This is a hazzard I guess and a drawback unlike standing in a line at the local video store!!!!!!!!!!!
