Or redbox? Reliably offering new release DVDs every week? The choice is yours. And speaking of choices, here are this week’s selections.

Steve Carell is back. This time as US Congressman Evan Baxter in Evan Almighty. The House of Representatives might be a zoo, but it’s nothing compared to the one Evan’s building (for God, played by Morgan Freeman) in the form of a new ark. Friends and colleagues smirk and gossip. Evan’s beard—and wisdom, apparently—grows. Hilarity and animal poop jokes ensue.

Next up, Surf’s Up. This animated hoot is about surfing penguins, yes. But it’s also about winning at life. Deep. Cody Maverick, voiced by Shia LaBeouf is one serious surfing penguin, dedicated to winning The Big Competition. Jon Heder, Zooey Deschanel and Jeff Bridges round out the cast, providing, respectively, competition, love and zen mentoring in a penguin sort of way. Cowabunga.

Reign Over Me
stars Adam Sandler as dentist Charlie Fineman, a Manhattanite who lost his family when the twin towers fell. Life has been tough ever since and it shows in Charlie’s behavior. Until he bumps into dental school pal Don Cheadle one day on the street. Redemption slowly follows.

In 28 Weeks Later, apparently the Rage Virus that started it all in 28 Days Later has been wiped out. So for a small corner of London secured by the U.S. Military, life can safely resume. Yeah, right. Nothing could possibly go wrong, could it? And the virus? It couldn’t possibly mutate and be even worse? Watch and see, watch and see.

Then in Shanghai Kiss, Ken Leung plays a man living in America and pondering his past after inheriting his grandmother’s home in Shanghai. Love, of course, complicates travel plans both actual and emotional.

Finally, from last week, it’s Clobbering Time, when the intrepid quartet takes on a new, ultra-scary nemesis in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Ben, Reed, Sue and Johnny confront two terrifying realities.

The upcoming wedding of Reed and Sue and the threat to all life on the planet by a sleek, shiny surfing guy with no sense of humor. See how it turns out.

My biggest question on these free codes is……If you are swiping your debit or credit card in the card reader, doesn’t this give redbox your identity and the number of FREE CODES that YOU are using?
