Netflix’s Chief Marketing Officer Out

The summer that Netflix would like to forget continues to have repercussions. Netflix’s chief marketing officer for 12 years, Leslie Kilgore, has stepped down and will be joining the company’s board as a non-executive director.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, who has been called on by many to step down himself, offered the following on Kilgore’s departure:

“Leslie has been instrumental in our long-term success and our recent return to solid growth . . . We are delighted she is joining our board of directors and will continue to be a key part of Netflix.

Is it right for the CMO to take part of the fall for Netflix’s recent failings? Will we see more of the company’s executives being showed the door or shuffled off into lesser capacities?

Depends on the total compensation package.

Does it matter? If any leave with the same golden parachute.

I think whoever did the crime should do the time and not get a paycheck out of it. We have so much corruption in business’s today and when does it stop? And when is their judgment day? They should have to face it now, not at the gate of Heaven. I believe the CMO not only should step down, but not receive any kind of compensation package. I lost my job with Ocean State Job Lot, because I have COPD a terminal disease and because I coughed all the time and customers complained all the time with no sympathy. That was my crime and I didn’t receive any compensation package. Now where is the fairness? So Leslie do you think you deserve any compensate?
