Netflix Raising Prices Again

99 per month, Netflix’s middle pricing tier, which allows subscribers to watch content on two screen simultaneously, will be going up $1 per month to $10.99. Netflix’s top-tier plan that includes 4K streaming and viewing on up to four devices will jump up $2 per month to $13.99.

New subscribers are already paying the higher price. Beginning October 19, current subscribers will receive notification that their service charge will be going up.

A spokesperson for Netflix justified the price increase thusly:

“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster,”

    I think this is too soon after the last increase. They need to better manage their spending. Also there isn’t enough content I like to justify this. Almost to the point now of putting my account on hold

    Redbox is also testing price changes in multiple markets across the country. Some of the ones that I’ve discovered are:

    Detroit MI – $1.75 for DVD & $2.25 for BLU-RAY
    Baltimore MD – $ 1.59 for DVD & $2.12 for BLU-RAY
    Albuquerque NM – $1.75 for DVD & $2.25 for BLU-RAY
    Spokane WA – $1.75 for DVD & No change on BLU-RAY
    Milwaukee WI – $2.00 for DVD & $2.25 for BLU-RAY
    Greenville SC – $1.60 for DVD & $2.10 for BLU6RAY
    Pittsburgh PA – $1.75 for DVD & No change for BLU-RAY
    Lubbock, TX – $1.75 for DVD & No change for BLU-RAY
    Missoula MT – $2.00 for DVD & $2.25 for BLU-RAY

    I don’t like paying more for anything, but Netflix, in my opinion is still worth the extra fee.
