Things are looking up for him in 2013, however, as his salary looks like it will be doubled next year.
Hastings took a big pay cut in 2012 after several major PR fiascos in the summer of 2011. His pay package was reduced to $500,000 and stock options grants valued at $1.5 million.
With Netflix’s fortunes looking up, Hastings will pull in a $2 million salary and $2 million stock options allowance for 2013. Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos also received a nice present in his Christmas stocking. Sarandos’ salary will climb to .

NetFlix has Closed Caption on about 3,000 movies and TV shows now. More all the time. And everything will have Closed Caption on it by 2014…I am looking to see what the Red Box deal will be like. Time will tell.
