OK it is predictable, but I was laughing and enjoyed it.
Renee is beautiful, Harry...is well...sexy in his odd own little way! Loved the winter scenes...reminded me of "upstate NY" in the dead of winter!!!!! If you want some laughs...and no heavy sex scenes this may be a good family movie.
Corny and predictable but being from Minnesota, I enjoyed it. It was actually shot in Winnipeg in winter when it was fifty below zero. The got the winter cold part correct. I will recommend it to people who ask about Minnesota winters. At least here in Minneapolis the weather is somewhat reasonable but we get the extremes of hot, and also cold. When we get a big winter snowfall (Minneapolis averages five "snow emergencies" requiring snow moving a street parked car to be moved or towed for plowing) per year with a "superstorm" once every two years. These big snowstorms, like "mini-hurricanes" are counter-clockwise. They tend to happen in the autumn or spring. There is typically a very warm spell as gulf air is pulled north. As the storm approaches we can get rain, then sleet then snow. After the storm passes it pulls down very cold air from the North along with high winds. This is called "wind chill". My urban mailbox is attached to the house. It takes well under a minute to get the mail sticking my hand out the door. The skin stings after thirty seconds after a big storm.
There are "whiteouts", especially when you get out of the developed areas. Think of extremely hard rain where you can't see the road in front of you but snow instead. People do die from this every year in Minnesota. It is depicted well in the film.
For this the movie is worth a rental. Think of it as "ice Road Truckers Lite".
If you are desperate for a comedy, this will do. Average at best. Renee had better find some better scripts!
It was okay at best. A bit cheesy.
