Wow - excellent movie! Should have won an Oscar or two or three.
Very well written movie. Clint Eastwood states it like it is. Old American veterans really do talk like he did in this movie.
The movie hits hard. Would recommend renting.
AWESOME MOVIE
I LOVED THIS MOVIE. I HAD A FEELIN IT WAS GOING TO END LIKE IT DID!!
Loved this movie....cried a lot at the end. Definitely worth seeing!!
This movie kicks a**! Clint Eastwood proves once again how good an actor/director he is. I will add this movie to my small collection. Watch the extras too! The ending was different than what I wanted, but it fit the story-line very well after I thought about it. (great car, too)
The best Clint Eastwood movie Yet
good movie,,, shows how young people in the world today have changed and have no respect.. wish the world would try to better a bester place to live.. really sad at the end..Clint eastwood was my favorite cowboy in his younger days and i guess u could say he ends up being one in this one too...
I watched the pic last nite, being depressed and after watching this film it put a new prospect on things, and there really are somepeople God has put down here to really serve his fellow man, at first he made me mad, but as I continued to watch I saw something I wish existed out here people carrying their neighbors burdens and being involved.
everyone who commented, hit it right on the nose.
Great movie BUT husband was disappointed with the outcome..
Watch it and you'll see what he meant.
But very good movie...
Proof positive that great movie writing, directing, producing, and acting still exists in Hollywood. Love, love, love Clint Eastwood. Thank goodness Clint is a 'true' actor and didn't bow down to Hollywood's pressure of botox, hair transplants, and hairdye to try to stay relevant in Hollywood. A deserved bow to Clint's genius and talent that has made so many movies great classics over the years.
exceptional
Just finished watching "Gran Torino". I live in the Twin Cities, MN which has the largest Hmong concentration in the US. There is a huge concentration near my parent's house in St. Paul. This film gets it basically right. By my parents house a lot of "born here" young Hmong have good jobs, good cars and good homes. Also , there are some rather brazen "Asian gangs" who attacked "yuppie joggers" at Phalen Lake, a normally upscale area on the St. Paul East side near a public housing project that is more than 50% Hmong.
At work we have several equipment service people who are Hmong. Nice people who you want to help.
I loved the line where Clint said "I have more in common with these people than my own family". Definitely worth the rent.
WOW!!!
This is truly one of the great artistic pieces of work
of art films that Clint Eastwood has done!!!
At the top of his career... no doubt.
A social comment on American's and their values
and also racist attitudes; true loving of your fellow man,
(brotherhood-sisterhood), and what that means in the scheme of
things in your own human experience.
This film is destined to be a classic if it is not already!!!
